Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bought the new "invisisram" chain and cables. I like the looks, but not sure if it is worth the weight since they are kind of heavy.

Doesn't look heavy. Scale off a bit?

I bought a rack and panniers for my new city bike yesterday.... I'm forgetting the brand of either, though the panniers were some expensive German jobbies.

They look like Ortileibs(sp).
They make great bags/packs/panniers, you won't have to worry able anything getting wet.

Yeah, had my eyes on them for a while & took advantage of my REI kick back. Heard that the one issue is A600's shiny aluminum body ='s dinged to hell eventually...but what Al pedal doesn't get the crap beat out of it? My 25 YO Time's (very good factory paint/anodized) are beat up, cleats hard to get, figured I had to do something. As MTB has SPD's....figured I'd "standardize" with the road bike.
