LBS has the Trek Domane 4.5 on sale for an incredibly good price. So, I talked to the wife and got the go ahead to put the bike on layaway (I wasn't planning on buying a road bike until later in the fall but, the deal is just too good to pass up).

Sweet. It's interesting that about a half year ago, I was offered a substantial discount also. They were still pretty new at that time. I wonder why all the discounts? Are bicycle sales in general that bad, or just with the Domane?

Trek has several of their high end bikes on sale because of TDF. The Domane was initially not on the list but has been added. Also, I think the new models are about to come out.

Nice bike! Have fun and be safe!
Mt LBS is currently running a big Trek sale, too. Making room for new models, maybe?

Domane 4.5 has been ordered. Trek is closing out a lot of their models to make room for. According to LBS the only change to the 4.5 for 2014 is color which Trek won't release.

FYI - While I was in the store maybe 30 minutes Trek sold of the Madone line they had on sale and the warehouse that the LBS orders out of sold all 17 of the Domane 4.5 it had in stock. My 4.5 is coming from a different warehouse.

Start of the season for some good bargains to appear in the shops. Always the best time to buy and glad to see you are taking advantage of it.

All you have to is wait- but you can't wait- you want it now and then there is the problem of will it cost a new helmet to match the frame and will it come with gears you can use.

Just Hibernate till it comes with just the excursions on your current bike to get fit enough to scare the pants off the local club when they are out riding.

Did you get a bette price than that on the link? Because that looked like a decent price point, especially with the Ultegra components.
