Schwinn Superior
This is a 1982 Schwinn Superior with a frame that was modified by Doug Fattic, who added braze ons for wired guides for a bike computer, pump peg, and rear rack mount. Nervex lugs, DuPont Imron paint. Current configuration has Dura Ace 7400 parts, including cranks (177.5 mm), front and rear derailleurs, shifters, seatpost, and BB. Royal Gran Compe brakes, Philippe handlebars, Brooks saddle, Mavic GP40 rims with hardly any brake wear, Campy Record hubs and newer 28 mm tubular tires. I completely overhauled the bike within the past year from the frame up. Wonderful riding bike. Last picture shows bike as I bought it; more in a touring configuration with Daniel Salmon fenders (still have them and rack).
25" frame. More pics on my flickr site here - https://flickr.com/photos/39670213@N06/page2
I am open to selling complete bike, or frame/fork and select parts separately. Also have other parts, including wheelsets, that I could sell with it. Asking $800 for current configuration, without pedals.

I am interested in the frame and fork, if its the right year and the price works.
ETA- forgot to ask about tire clearance. What fits?

What is the bike's year/date code? It looks like 2680 when zoomed in, but its blurry. Superior models around the early 80s were in 78, 81, and 82 i think?

If I'm decoding the date correctly, it looks like 87th day of 1982. serial number on the frame would give some insight.
Beautiful frame/bike. I have an '81 Superior - it's magical.

It may have been built in '81. Superior frames were welded in Racine and then shipped to Chicago.
