yes, there is some chipping in the chromevelito at the headset, and the bottom bracket.

@Robvolz - I really question a couple of statements.
1. It does not look like any chromevelito I have ever seen. chromevelito does not have a primer and is semitransparent paint over chrome.
2. It looks very much like a repaint with the filled in features including the SN. The decals look too new. The decals are under a clear coat as well. Not the standard practice unless a "newer" frame set.
3. If it is as old as my 1965 Frejus then it is likely Falck tubing and not 531. Not too many Italian bikes with 531 tubing.
4. Given the above, the price is high, especially in this market.
I am open to being calibrated by those more knowledgeable than myself.
When was the last year Frejus name was used? I can't find any pics of any past 1975.

I spent some time pondering this before posting. Its for a co-op and while I've always appreciated Frejus/Leganno, I've never worked on one. Fondled one.
Found this in the rafters of the co-op. made me wonder if a volunteer many moons ago stashed it to buy for themselves. Lots of dust.
The numbers seem as legible as any Frejus I can find pics of; 32677. I looked at Dale's site at the nearby numbers, this appears to be 531.

You are right. Now looking at the pics I see the primer you speak of.
My confusion also stems from the paint job. The paint is very shiny. lots of wet sanding and gloss. I thought it to be factory. No runs, not thicker blobs.
in other words, better than any Colnago factory job I've seen (I collect Colnago/DeRosa of the same era)
Now to think of it, it also has the decals under clear coat. Something my Holdsworth had, but I haven't seen on Italians. Then again, Colnago/DeRosa were hell-bent on making racing frames and sometimes in the quickest way possible. Decals were surface mounted.
I did much research on the Leganno/Frejus sites, how the seat post bolt went from under the top tube (with grub screw) to behind like most framebuilders in 72. 1972 was the transition year with both styles produced.
One weird thing: under the headset chip area, I noticed some numbers ever so faintly stamped in a tube. I could make out "27" peeking out. Don't know if that means anything. I'll try to get a pic.
Going through google images, I found both frames with "socks" and without. frames with the seat-tube bands and without.
I make mistakes on an hourly basis. And I appreciate the collective knowledge of this group.
Revising this as a re-paint, what value would you assign to this?

2, It also might make sense to put the Pat. 1971 campy NR rear derailleur back on it, and scrounge up other parts and use it in our christmas fundraiser cocktail party with silent auction/raffle.

Not necessarily a fair comparison because of the difference in age between but here is a pic of my 65 SN and post clamp configuration.

I believe mine is a 1966, though the seller thought it was '65. It has a Columbus sticker under what is a thin, almost certainly factory clearcoat. I say factory because I think this bike was outside a NYC apartment once in its lifetime, judging from the wear on its original tires. I can't imagine the owner having it stripped and clearcoated. It has oil ports on the headtube and BB shell, 151 mm BCD old Record crank, bronze Record derailleurs, and no braze-ons other than the TT cable stops. My gut feeling is that the blue one is a repaint, and the painter goofed on the surface prep, or used a primer that did not adhere well to the chrome. All the upper-end Frejus frames I have seen from this period have the serial number highlighted with a contrasting color paint.

The decals shown in the opening post look like those seen on Frejus bikes in the 1950s.
Edit: could be wrong, but the head tube decal looks like one Frejus would have used on the seat tube.
