Who do you ride with?
A lot of us ride with groups, clubs or just friends. What does your group of cycling friends look like?
I ride with the Night Riders, a group best described as eclectic. This is from last night's ride (I was behind the camera).
And this is from our 500th ride a couple years ago
I also ride with the Clear Fork Bicycle Club, mostly Saturday morning breakfast rides. Here's a pic from a recent ride with me in the back with the glasses
So who do you ride with?

I hate to say this but basically a Lone Ranger. Ride when I want, go where I want, stop when I want. Speed up going down hills never worry if I am off the pace line.
Also an early bird out before sunrise if possible and the wind is usually easier then.

Another loner here, pretty much for the same reasons as Deacon, and I can bonk on the hills without getting behind :/

I ride wth Saint Arnold Brewery for charity rides. We do the MS150 and Bike Around the Bay. We cover a lot of miles, and we down a lot of beers. I love the beer and the team, especially our volunteer support staff.

I love people and I am a very sociable person, but I prefer to ride alone rather than having to yell back and forth to another person every time the whim hits me to take a detour, slow down, speed up, stop for some water, etc.

I generally ride solo, because I like to set out at first light. Since I work most Saturdays, teaching in a MS degree program for working stiffs, that eliminates most of the larger San Diego area group rides. I teach undergrad classes on Wednesdays, which eliminates another group option.
I did enjoy weekly and sometimes even semi-weekly 25-mile rides with a local YMCA group, but the Y, in its finite wisdom, discontinued the program a few years ago.
Having said all that, I do envy you guys -- it looks like you have found some great folks to ride with.

I get my social fix in a couple of non-bike related groups. Bit I had been a member of a bike club 22 years ago. Yours looks like a fun group!

I apologize in advance for the offense, but the pedant living inside me wants to change your thread title to "With whom do you ride?".
In the late spring, summer, and early Fall, I ride chiefly with the largest local club - TCBC. I may join 3-4 TCBC rides/week. In the colder months, I ride alone mostly, with a few TCBC rides.
TCBC is sufficiently large (~1500 active members) and diverse that there are many different types of rides to choose from - from hammerfests to social C rides, from urban after-work workouts to rural outings. This also means that I can show up to 4 rides in a week and see only a handful of people at more than one ride.

Alas, I sing:
"I ride alone I ride a... My shadow's the only one who rides beside me.

Maybe not, but due to the holiday weekend, I didn't ride home from Sunday's ride until 1 am and it was a pleasure cruising down the primary roads with no traffic.

However, I also note that Richard Lederer* would say that "Whom do you ride with?" is also acceptable. I still feel a twinge of guilt when ending a sentence in a preposition, but doing so can avoid some awkward constructions. In this case, of course, your suggested "With whom do you ride?" is compact and fits all rules and imagined rules or conventions.

But it makes me wonder, if substituting "who" for "whom" is accepted in general conversation, why do we never see "with who do you ride?" It seems like it should be a shade more correct than "who do you ride with" but sounds really wrong.

I think it's fine given the unwritten rules of vernacular, and possibly preferable to grammatically correct constructions.
But it makes me wonder, if substituting "who" for "whom" is accepted in general conversation, why do we never see "with who do you ride?" It seems like it should be a shade more correct than "who do you ride with" but sounds really wrong.

So you're saying that "with who do you ride" really is more correct than is "who do you ride with?" Since the preposition has your preferred position? If you can get past the substitution that is.

To avoid ending a sentence with a preposition, just add the word "a**hole" after the preposition.
