OK, I see someone else posted a Norex 39 already, but I'll still post mine, since the lettering came out so clear. I got this one, my only "suspension" saddle, from a forum member through the ads. From what I read on the net, Norex is basically a pretty decent Ideale clone.

Here's a moldy oldie, a Cinelli Unicanitor, that literally had spider webs & (minor) mold underneath, when I rescued it from the big bike swap meet here earlier this year. My daily rider is also a black Cinelli, but with way thicker leather, and it has the flying "C" logo that matches the one on my black 1R (?) Cinelli stem.

And I can't forget my good "backup" Italian leather, this gorgeous Sella Italia Anatomic. I almost hated to even mount this one up, on a seatpost, but I did & rode it about a week. I could easily live with this one, but the Cinelli is just so plush, on my too-skinny posterior.

A 90/3 type (it's a size used by any saddlemaker that needs to do so), no idea who by.

I'll play too; this Ideale from the 1970 Falcon I got from my dad is I'm sure nothing special (shown here mounted temporarily on a Trek 1000)

I need to get me some SNO-seal and see if I can't get it into shape to try riding again. When I've tried it before though it just seemed too small; my fat a$$ was always either on rivets, or up on the nose.

There's a tubular tire inside. The newspaper keeps the road grime off it. Very old school. French or Italian newspapers work best.

No, it's made by the same company (Tron et Berthet). I don't know why, but they used the same frame, same rivets, the leather cut to the same pattern, and apparently the same leather, for several different saddles. I've seen them marked Ideale 39, BIM 39, Norex 39, and Welcome. It wouldn't surprise me to find the same saddle with other names as well.

Ha, that's pretty funny, and interesting. There's nothing really wrong with it, I guess, it's just that the actual saddle maker isn't getting his fair "credit", just selling more saddles.

Not really much and could be wrong but I always thought the Perjohn was a lower cost line of Ideale or maybe the frame only. This model 17 has a sport cut and steel rivets.

Gyes is the actual manufacturer of Cardiff, Origin 8, Velo Ornage and Zimbale private brand tensioned leather saddles, and I'm pretty sure they also make Dia Compe, Papillionaire, Rivet, Spa and Torelli private brand tensioned leather saddles, too.

That wouldn't surprise me.

I see the ones with rear springs like a B72 occasionally

What do you think of the Persons saddle? I've been thinking about trying one out (I think the blue would look great on my bike) but I'm wondering about the ride quality and durability.

Thanks. spacemanz. I soaked it in water then stuffed a t shirt into the underside to get the shape to how I wanted it, while it was wet the paint splashes could be scraped off with a thumbnail, when it was dry I proofided it. Very nice to ride now but very old leather so needs regular slight additions of tension.

Wonderful restoration on that saddle, Mr. S. I presume you re-dyed it?
