Yeah... I don't have anything like this myself. Just wondered if anyone else does? I did see a very vintage child carrier (all metal, pre-plastic construction) at a bike swap once, and was surprised how quickly it had been purchased (almost immediately after being unloaded)... but the crowd/meet was mostly a paper-boy bicycle flavor, so, that may have had something to do with it's purchase. I wasn't really sure.

Well after looking around a bit I can say I don't have any decent pics with the child seat... you know, because if you're out there with that thing attached you're not out to take glamour shots of your ride. But here's something from what seems forever ago, complete with some kind of smudge on the lens:
That's on a Sekai 2400, though the same rack/seat combo spent time on a Centurion Pro Tour and Schwinn Super Sport as well. Man, my handlebar and brake lever position was hilarious back then. And if I knew then what I know now I'd certainly still own that Ideale 80. That thing was nearly flawless. Sigh.

I've never used one but gave my sister a new Panasonic Tourist 5 back in the '80s with a Troxel on it to tote her kid. I'll have to dig up a photo.

Eddy is probably using the simplest one of all, a molded plastic seat that has two U-bolts to hold it to the top tube. Kid sits on that and grabs the bars like mom or dad does. Hard to find a photo but those seats are still around and probably severely frowned upon by every safety agency. I forgot about the pegs that clamp onto the downtube.
