I still remember our first morning waking up in Princeton on a late August trip there to secure an apartment before starting grad school. Such a front had come through overnight and we were in heaven. Cool and dry. You have to understand we had flown up from that hell hole of New Orleans. What a difference! We fell in love with the place, a feeling that lasts to this day. Of course, it was moderated some by winter. Just a bit.

No, unfortunately. I've only purchased one vest and it was on the extravagant side. If I were looking for one, though, I'd be checking the Rapha sales.
Edited to add: and now that I've looked, I'm tempted even though I don't need one; a few options in the ~$70 region which, considering the versatility/mileage one gets out of a vest, is pretty reasonable.

New Hutch tires ready to go. I've never had an easier tubeless mount - I mean, I've never had to use anything other than my hands, but these went on with ease. As far as getting them seated, the first tire needed 3 attempts, the second snapped on on the first try. Though the new tires are 28mm, they seem considerably smaller than the outgoing 30mm tires. They certainly feel lighter, too, and supple. Looking forward to a ride on them in the morning if the weather cooperates.

Went bike shopping. Nothing in stock. Order online and get free delivery to the store. Need to size up a 54 before I pull the trigger.
Caad 12 not available. Might end up with crabon. A little concerned about the Cannondale press fit bottom bracket issues.
Crabon. God help me.

I have a couple suggestions. My favorite one is from Voler, it’s got my team kit design. But I also have one from Wolfbike I got from ScamBay, which is ALMOST as good, and is about $15. Just search “wolfbike vest” on the site for details.

Did I tell you daughter #2 had been very interested in Princeton but more recently decided the town is too small and provincial? SMH. Now she wants to go to Columbia.

Agree although I am still encouraging her to consider Penn State and University of Pittsburgh. Both have outstanding honors programs and I think she will enjoy life more at a not so high pressure school. She is a senior this year so it will happen soon.

With the new service entry cable in place, things are working which never worked well in the past. Such as the wifi booster which brings better speed to my side of the house.

Not to mention cheaper. Personally, I would not want to be at PSU's main campus. Too much goofiness there. At least PGH is real city apart from its schools. It's where I went to law school.

Beautiful day in Lehigh Gorge State Park yesterday. While you can't tell from this shot, there were so many people on the river. Still hoping to do a round trip on the GAP starting on 9/7. Cumberland, MD to Pittsburgh and back.

We were on the Little Miami one day, long ago and far away. Approaching the take out point in our home built kayak. The river was packed. A thunderstorm blew through and we had the river to ourselves again. We couldn't figure out where all those people went.

Agree. I told her Pitt would be my first choice for her, but like an independent minded teenager, she does not give her dad much cred. Sad!

Got in a decent ride on the new tires. They're... tires. Good tires, even, but not magical at this point.
I can't perceive any difference in how well they roll, but they certainly feel lighter and more lively than the 30mm G-One Speeds that they replaced. They're not quite as cushy of a magic carpet ride though, in fairness, I'm running the new tires 5psi higher. I think that I can lower that to match the 65f/70f of the G-Ones (those pressure figures were from when I was 20+ lbs heavier, so I should be good), so I'll try that on the next outing.
Power and speed figures aren't terribly helpful, either. I will say that, by perceived effort, it wasn't a terribly tough ride, but my average/weighted average power figures, along with average speed () say that it was actually a pretty good effort over this course (for me ).

Thanks, checking both brands right now.

Pointing out the sale to you may have gotten me in trouble... I have a jersey, some socks and a LS Merino polo in my shopping cart. Haven't pushed the button, but I'm itching to.
