I`m sure this has been brought up , but I can`t find the thread.

I need some new Cycling Gloves. I damaged some nerves Many years ago, and I find riding without them Very uncomfortable.

I`ve been using SPENCO gloves , which I love.

But, I can`t seem to find them anymore. They have GEL rather then foam rubber. I have some foam rubber ones , but they don`t do the trick.

My SPENCO Gloves are just about in shreds.

Also , I don`t want to break the bank on a pair of gloves.

I bought some Grip Grab gloves online that were about $30. I got the really padded style as I was doing a 100-mile ride. They even have little magnets in the cuff so you can keep the gloves together.

Google "gel cycling gloves."

Back in the day all I wore were the red, white and blue Spenco mesh gloves. I was proud of my "Spenco glove tan."

I recently got a pair of "ERGO AIR" gloves by Louis Garneau. They have gel padding in certain areas. $30 at LBS, and I like them. Previously I wore baseball batting gloves with no padding.

I see Amazon has some other model of that brand with "gel" in the name for about $22.

It might not be possible for you, but one method of decreasing the pressure on your hands is to raise your handlebars to achieve a more upright position. Even a small raise can make a difference.

fwiw - recently saw someone post a pic of their bike where they added pipe insulation to their bars. guess that works for them

this is not that pic I saw, but just found this on the internet, so I guess it's a thing?

I`ve tried that pipe insulation many years ago. It only seemed to work for the first couple of rides. Then it got so compressed it was like it wasn`t even there after a while.

I think I even had some Spenco bar padding many years ago. It wasn`t gel, but very dense foam covered with nylon, so it lasted and worked better then the pipe foam.

get a recumbent and you wont need gloves...or padded shorts ….

Give Specialized gel gloves a try. They are the best at reducing road shock I’ve used. I also recommend Firelion gel gloves (available through Amazon) as a much less expensive alternative. Both do a good job of relieving stress on the major nerves that run through your palms.

Second vote for Specialized Body Geometry gel gloves, only gloves I use.

Yeah, I've only been riding upright bikes for 50 years without such problems but, hey, any minute now....

Friendly tip--don't respond to a cheap shot by making an absurd "warning". Way too many healthy long-time bicyclists to take that one seriously.

Glad you enjoy your bent, hopefully as much as I love my uprights. Don't worry about snarky comments from trolls who barely ride.

I ride 110 to 140 miles a week .... not joy riding either . I’m on the aero bars training for speed and distance.....

Because it happened to my father in-law he had to have surgery he’s 72 and been biking with that discomfort for to many years

are u retired...are u training for speed and distance or are u joyriding …..seems most bf people are retired people riding for fun not training for races

I looked at Firelion but they are full finger. They`re nice looking gloves, but I want finger-less.

I have a Specialized bike dealer close by, by they don`t carry those gloves. I might have to buy online , which I hate doing.

They did have these , which look very doable!

I second the Louis Garneau gloves. Btw... I buy just about everything from Specialized, and appreciate all their products as they are really top-notch quality. But for me, the Garneau gloves do much better at relieving hand numbness.

I`m not sure those would work with bars.

Mine are just a straight bar with rubber grips on the ends. No tape.

My wife bought me a pair of Specialized padded gloves for Father's Day this year. I love them, they really help, are light weight, durable and fit good. Only con is they were kind of expensive from what she said.
