86 Vitus 979

Considering selling this to fund a new bike. I've heard the market is down and I think I could make more if I sell the parts separately but I'd like to try to do this all at once.

I've narrowed it down to an 86,
Mostly Shimano 600 partially Trim-color.
600 Brake levers 6200
Cinelli bars and stem
600 Headset 6200
600 Brakes 6200
600 hubs hand built wheels with
600 Tri-Color shifters, front and rear derailleurs
600 crankset 6200
600 pedals tri-color
Dura-Ace 7 speed freewheel 11-21
Giiemme seat post and Sell San Marco Saddle
I'm not including the Campy water bottles and cages.

I'm in St Louis...
What do you all think?

Nice bicycle but all. Tall frames can be a harder sell but tall Vitus can be even harder, due to their whippy reputation. I wouldn't be including the water bottles either, so make sure you remove them for the sale photo, to avoid any confusion. Do you have the proprietary toe clips for the pedals? If so, I'd be listing it for $350 and expecting closer to $300.

I sold a Campy water bottle of the exact type shown for $20.00 and wish I hadn't because the minute I sold it, I had people from 4 states away offering me more. So I agree with T-Mar, sell them separately.

Even in average used condition they typically fetch $40-$50.

Thanks to all who responded. I guess I'm going to keep this and try another way to buy new bike.

The water bottles and cages will stay on the bike.

This is a beautiful bike so I wish I could tell you it would fetch $500+. I’m at $350 as well. I’ve seen more than one of these sit on CL forever trying to get more.
