Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Call me lazy...

but I dont want to spend my next weekend with a black toothbrush. How do you guys clean your bikes? Is degreaser and a toothbrush really the quickest way? Maybe white wheels were a mistake...

Sponge and bucket of soapy water for the frame. Mind the bb and the hubs if your doing the rims. Nasty stiff brush & Simple Green for the chain and cogs.

If it were warmer, I'd add a backyard and hose...

Please tell me you have a white frame and were going for OCP.

I just use a bucket of warm water and sponge to get all the grime (snow, mud, etc.) off the tires and rims with a good once-over. Then I use simple green and some towels. Some say don't use simple green because it leaves a residue but I actually like that and it helps the braking for the first 10 minutes, haha.

Don't forget to clean the brake pads.

You are lazy. Get out those swabs and clean your chain kid!

Take good care of the drivetrain and brakes.
The rest can wait.
If you're OCD, a few water bottles filled with warm water to clean off all the grime (remove wheels first) - spary the bike down. Use a wet cloth to wash. Fill water bottles with warm water to rinse. Dry with towel and repeat during next ride.

Plexus is amazing for carbon bikes (frames) and since it is like a wax, it makes it easier to clean the next time.
Now get cleaning ya lazy bum!

Seriously. Spray degreaser on the chain and cogs. Hose down with garden hose. Repeat as necessary.

Seriously caked-on dirt on carbon frames, I add a little Pledge multi-surface, the stuff in the blue bottle designed for LCD screens, electronics and the like. Wipe gently, then hose off.
