Easton R90SL vs H+Son Archetype

Easton R90SL vs H+Son Archetype
I am looking for building a new set of wheels and wanted to know if someone has good experience with R90SL rims.
I've 3 sets of Archetypes, one I got from Velomine and others I've built myself, so plenty happy with them.
The R90SL has a very similar profile, 2mm deeper and 2mm internal rim wider, and that got me curious since I ride 700x32c tires - but the new bike will go with a 700x28c because a 32c won't fit the frame.
Would a 19mm internal width make good difference from the 17mm of Archetype?
And the Easton one is few grams lighter

As an owner of 3 wheelsets with Archetype rims, I would go with the easton rims. A touch wider, an touch deeper, a touch lighter, and tubeless rim bed profile.
There is no downside, except cost.
The Archetype is an antiquated design. Awesome, and the rims have all been great for me, but still...

I would agree and almost parody mstateglfr but I only have two sets of Archetypes the other H+ are TB14s for that vintage vibe but I will give them mega points for the Hard Ano Grey color way. I think wider and lighter is a good thing and if you want to run tubeless that is a plus. I am not tubeless yet on anything but hopefully that will change.

I have been riding the EA90SL wheelset for a few years now and have had no issues with the rim, which uses this rim.
I have them on my Ritchey Swiss Cross and have had them with tubes and tubeless. I've had to true them very little, four different tires have mounted very easily, and so far they are still round and straight. FWIW I'm <150lbs
Just note that these are hookless rims, if that matters.

What?!? Thats crazy! There is nothing at all mention on the website about being hookless. Nothing in the description, nothing in the spec, and nothing in the Rim Pressure PDF(which there really should be since pressure changes with hookless). Heck, the drawn image on the Rim Pressure PDF even shows a hooked rim profile.
Well if these are hookless, I wouldnt touch em. I am aware of the cited benefits of hookless and have no interest.

So I have the EA90SL DISC wheelset, to clarify; not the rim brake version but they appear to use the same rim. I too, was suprised at the lack of hooks as it was not written anywhere back then also.

Thank you for the info - I thought the rim has hooks since I am going clincher with tubes...Will double check to make sure I am not putting my money on wrong product.

From here, last two comments, it seems it is almost hookless - there is a very tiny hook if you can call that a hook

If you're looking at these - why not the Kinlin XR31?
Wider, lighter & according to November bikes' independent test, very aero, especially in low-wind/headwind.
I built my favourite wheels with them and they were an absolute pleasure to build, ride very well, set up tubeless or tubed easily.

That being said - if I was choosing between the two you mentioned, I really like the look of the silver/polished (not sure which) H+Son Archetype.

Kinlin XR31T looks good. Thank you for the info. And has the asymmetric rim for rear wheel. Only few grams heavier and a lot cheaper.

Got the parts and built the Kinlin XR31T wheels and when was installing the clincher GP5s on them I found out that needs 10 times more effort than installing the tire on Archetypes.
I pinched one tube on first try
Now, I am worried how hard will be to repair a flat tire on the road .....
