Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tip of the day thread...

here's a thread to pass on a piece of useful info.

don't like the info? tough luck.

here's a start: the pbk has one last pair of pro race tires on clearance. they are NOT pro2race.

they're yellow. if you can live with that, they're only 22$ each.

get them before they're gone - https://probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y2055

How about "Best Movie of the Year"?

Are there multiple "Movies of the Year"? If so, I guess there may be one that is "Best". It just confuses me.

On the day with the dryest weather in 3 weeks, bring both cycling shoes (left and right!) to work for your lunch ride. No ride for me today, dammit.

1) plastic grocery-bags work great under booties (but over the shoes), to keep the feet dry.

2) if your wheels squeak when you brake, sometimes it's just because there's gatorade (sugar) on the rim. just spray it w/ regular water and problem solved.

3) one can gauge the amount of riding a bikeforums poster does by using a simple equation: their riding amount is inversely proportional to their posts per day. (meaning those that post more probably ride less - or else, how do you find so much time to post?!)

Yellow tires -- the perfect thing to add some uniqueness to an otherwise boring set of McKsyrium type wheelset... would bear resemblance to those ubiquitous Golden Arches.

Don't sell your Powertap, because later on you'll really want it. Same goes for the carbon wheels too.

To avoid such problems, ride to and from work.
