Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wouldn't throw a bottle at her....

Woman bicycling in St. Cloud with shotgun strapped to her back is arrested

By TIM HARLOW, Star Tribune

It was a sight that would catch anyone's attention, a woman riding a bicycle around St. Cloud Monday night in bitter cold. Turns out there was another reason a citizen took notice: The cyclist was carrying a gun.

Police caught up to the bicyclist a few minutes after a call came in around 11:15 p.m. They found her near 14th Avenue N. and St. Germain Street with a shotgun strapped to her back, said Sgt. Joe Kraayenbrink.

Turns out the 22-year-old suspect is a felon and had a warrant out for her arrest, police said.

She was arrested and faces charges of a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm in a public place, as well as her outstanding warrant, Kraayenbrink said.

lol pretty funny.

I guess if it was in a locked case it would be okay since it's a long gun.

I'm pretty sure it would have been ok if she weren't a felon. So what possesses a felon to parade around on a bicycle with a shotgun over her shoulder? She appears to be stupid on several different levels.

Depends a great deal on the state.

I bet there are people here on BF who've done that - there've been whole threads about how to pack heat.

Here in Alabama, you can carry openly without a permit. You need a permit to carry concealed. I'm pretty sure the local cops would want to know why you're carrying that shotgun, though.

When I hovered over the post and read "Woman bicycling in St. Cloud with shotgun strapped to her back is arrested" I figured I'd click on this post and either find
(a) a hot chick in a S&M/bondage style black skinsuit with whips and gun as part of the look, or
(b) a picture of some hick girl hunting on a MTB.
I was hoping for (a), but didn't even get the laugh I was expecting from (b). Just another dumb human.
