n+1, did I do OK?
Found this at a thrift store, I don't know much about Andy Gilmour, but the bike is light and has a mix of Campy & Suntour so I thought it worth the $150 asking price... Did I do OK? Either way another restore job in the que...

Derailleurs and crankset more than cover price paid. Great deal for sure. In my area, it's easier to find a deal on an obscure/lesser known brand.

Based on what I see and what you paid, you did great. Ride it for a while and then, if you like the feel, restore away. That said, and this is only an opinion, restoration should include cleaning, lubricating and waxing, coupled with any consumables (cables, brake pads, and tires if they look cracked or threads showing). The bike looks clean enough, to me, to preserve what appears to be a little used patina.
One more thing that is entirely personal preference - change the handlebar tape to something that does not stand out so much.

You got that bike for $150? HONESTLY?!?!? I hate you. (And BTW I'd keep the bar tape, but that's up to you. Enjoy!)

I believe you can message him on facebook and he can answer questions.
Edit: FWIW, I'd change the bar tape too. But as has been mentioned, that is a personal preference.

Andy is a old school framebuilder and blessing in Tucson. Last time I was at his shop he was helping a guy with a food cart bike to get back in business. I have two of his terrific customs a SL and Prestige Ultralight and he has rescued a Colin Lange Reynolds 753 (which Reynolds engineers said can't be cold set) for me with tweaked fork and frame that was unridable on his Marchetti frame table. A couple pics of his work:

Yup , good find. They don’t come along very often. After a good clean up and maintenance it should be fine . I don’t think it needs paint as far as I can tell.

I love the seat tube badge/decal!
One of his bikes was (is?) for sale locally in very good condition for much more than you paid. Having a hand built frame is just cool. Nice score.
As echoed earlier, thrift stores in Oregon NEVER have stuff like that.

not sure if the saddle is set to your need, an SR brand seatpost... I would check how much is inserted in the frame. 50-55mm would be the minimum to me.

Andy Gilmore got back to me, he is saying late 70's too. Looking for tires (27 on this one, not 700c) and thinking I'll swap out the 5 speed freewheel for a six speed. I have a Campy bike and have wanted a classic Suntour bike for some time, I think this one fit's the bill. It is almost exactly the same dimensions as my Paramount too!

note in case you didn't think thru the details already: a 5-spd rear triangle typically is spaced 120mm, and 6-spd requires 126mm so unless you're planning on a SunTour "Ultra 6" freewheel, you'll need to have that rear triangle spread 6mm. It's a easy mod to make with a steel frame such as this, but have it done by experienced hands if you are in any doubt about DIY-ing it. Would be a shame to muck up this fine frame!
There are still good 27" tires being made, I got some Contis not too long ago.
Do enjoy it!
