Hybrid 700c tire size for the road
Hey all! Was wondering if I can hear peoples advice on what tire size you all use for your hybrid when using it primarily on the road.
I'm planning on keeping my Trigger Sport tires at 38mm for trail usage. But rather than buying a second road bike, have decided to try different size tires on my hybrid to see how well I'll ride on the pavement with it.
So my real question is, what kind of a difference in the ride should I expect if I switch down to 35mm or 32mm or even 28mm which my LBS has stated people have done?
I have several tires I'm considering, I'm more curious on what kind of effects I should receive with the different sizes.
Thanks!!!

I run 25's on my Strada and Sirrus, but then the Sirrus came with 23's. Usually narrower tires roll faster with a harsher ride. You will notice a difference going from 38 to 28.

I run 35 c on my adventure bike. They seem like a happy compromise between too thin and too thick.
Just enough to cushion the road and yet roll reasonably fast.

I've used 23mm 28mm and 32mm. My preference are the 32mm. In my opinion 32mm look very cool (looks are important ) and are comfortable. They roll nicely, but then, I don't have the need to go fast so often on my Hybrid.

The thinner tires will be harsher, but the speed factor IMHO is determined more by the tread and compound than the width.
Yes, wider tires are heavier, but an argument can be made that they roll better. Oh, but to answer your question i use 35's

Congrats!
Wider tires are more comfortable, stable through turns and roll fast.
You'll find the Nimbus Sport a practical all-around tire.
Would I race on it? No. But I would certainly do every day riding on it.

I went all the way down to a 23mm and the bike rode fast but wasn't comfortable. I also had to look out for every little crack in the road, personally I'd go with a 28mm for road use.

My new hybrid came with 30's. At my first tire change, I'll move to 28's.

Thanks, I am keeping the 38's for my weekend trail usage. These new 35's are going to be used when I ride pavement on my morning rides. Going to wait and see how well this works. Next year I'll make the judgement on buying a road bike or not.

After installing these and riding a quicky around the block, I'm liking these. But will reserve my judgement until I can do my normal 7 mile morning ride. I haven't been able to ride the past few days due to weather and me being sick. So I'm looking forward to seeing how these really handle.
