Thanks! They ordered me a replacement under warranty . I still think I'll probably end up ordering a 36 spoke rear wheel.

Goal for August is to ride more than I did in July! (Heat did me in! Only did 100 miles!)

8/2 -- 21.32 (commute to work)
8/4 -- 21.30 (commute to work)
8/6 --- 6.96 (ride to the gym)
8/7 -- 21.68 (commute to work) (traffic was a PITA going home!)
8/9 -- 21.59 (commute to work)
8/13 - 12.98 (to the gym and errands)
8/14 - 21.28 (commute to work) (very muggy today!)
8/16 - 21.50 (commute to work) (92% humidity - Uhggg!)
8/18 - 21.39 (commute to work)
8/25 - 21.70 (commute to work and errands on the way home)
8/27 -- 6.79 (to the gym)
8/28 - 21.48 (commute to work)
8/30 - 21.32 (commute)

Total - 241.29 miles (388.3 km)(trying to learn how the rest of the world thinks)

Well I didn't quite make 400 miles this month, but I'm happy with what I did:

08/02/17 10.26 mi
08/03/17 15.14 mi
08/04/17 15.15 mi
08/07/17 15.13 mi
08/09/17 15.14 mi
08/10/17 12.18 mi
08/10/17 2.18 mi
08/11/17 1.01 mi
08/11/17 1.20 mi
08/12/17 25.04 mi
08/14/17 10.12 mi
08/15/17 1.13 mi
08/15/17 15.25 mi
08/17/17 15.14 mi
08/21/17 15.16 mi
08/21/17 1.10 mi
08/22/17 15.00 mi
08/23/17 15.14 mi
08/24/17 12.20 mi
08/26/17 75.90 mi
08/28/17 12.14 mi
08/29/17 14.05 mi
08/29/17 15.15 mi
08/30/17 10.48 mi
08/31/17 10.44 mi
Overall 350.82 mi

If I can do 350 miles in both September and October I should reach my goal of 2,000 miles for the year. This weekend's long ride will help.

8/1 - 9 miles + 3 miles with the wife and daughter in the evening.
8/2 - 14 miles
8/3 - 17 miles
8/5 - 21 miles
8/7 - 10 miles
8/8 - 17 miles
8/10 - 17 miles
8/11 - 23 miles
8/14 - 17 miles
8/15 - 16 miles
8/17 - 7 indoor miles
8/21 - 15 miles
8/22 - 13 miles
8/28 - 15 miles - return from toothache/root canal hell
8/29 - 15 miles
8/30 - 19 miles
8/31 - 12 miles

Total - 260 miles

Obviously missed my goal ... traveling for work and my tooth/root canal issue definitely put a damper on my riding in the middle of the month.

Oh well ... onward and upward

Well first full month back on the bike after 2 years off and 40 lbs of weight gain and no goal set.

308.6 miles for me in August. And only about 5 pounds lost....got to be honest that part is a bit frustrating but having dropped nearly $4k on cycling gear since July 1st getting my girlfriend into the sport I know I'll be on the bike regularly moving forward.

Hmm...Sept....let's say >350 (I'd like to do 400).

Congrats on losing 5 pounds, I don't think that I lost any. But my pants feel looser. I think that I actually gained weight, but weight isn't my main issue.

Finished weak

Goal 400 Miles...reached

8/3 34.16 miles (LifeTaker - Specialized Allez Sport Ultegra road bike) - Worked on climbing a couple of 1-2 mile hills....and then back DOWN!!!
8/4 31.66 miles (Grim Reaper - Cannondale CAADX Ultegra) - Trail ride to Kensico Dam and up the service road and over the (now closed to cars) dam road.
8/6 33.56 miles (LifeTaker) SUNY Purchase circuit
8/9 23.61 (LifeTaker) Hills, hills and more hills
8/11 27.27 (Grim Reaper) Fun trail run up to Kensico Dam...did intervals on the access ramp until my lungs turned inside out
8/12 22.91 (LifeTaker) Climb, descend, repeat
8/13 38.46 (LifeTaker) More hills, nice ride along the reservoir too
8/14 23.75 (LifeTaker) Recovery Ride. More climbing, and a few exciting moments helping a caterpillar/cocoon get across Miles Avenue. Mostly just stretching out
8/16 13.11 (Grim Reaper) Mostly errands and a farmer's market run. Brief ride on Old Croton Aqueduct Trail
8/17 40.27 (LifeTaker) Fun day in the sun. Lots of minor hills and 2 serious ones. Went by the local rock radio station and Elvis had left the building
8/20 30.52 (LifeTaker) Find a hill climb it, repeat. Progress in hitting steep grades without blowing up halfway to the top
8/21 40.88 (Grim Reaper) Solar Eclipse hill rides on CX bike...WTF was I thinking?
8/24 52.34 (LifeTaker) No speed records, but I was steady in my climbs. Beautiful day near Kensico Reservoir. Good day all around.
8/26 21.15 (LifeTaker) Blah stretch ride, some good hills and PR on a Category 4 hill
8/28 32.86 (LifeTaker) Nice run up to the dam and beyond. Bombed up Prospect segment with an octogenarian pacing me.

Got hit with a bug final days of August and never got back out -- still a bit wonky

August final total: 467.52 miles

I am too lazy to list my daily commutes....
Total 340.5 miles.

Mainly through commuting and some weekend rides.

Obviously missed my goal ... traveling for work and my tooth/root canal issue definitely put a damper on my riding in the middle of the month.

Oh well ... onward and upward
260 is nothin' to sneeze at!
