Any disadvantages to a flexible v-brake noodle?

Installing v-brakes. Have my choice of rigid or flexible noodles. Any reason I should pick one or other?

Suck it and see.

I suppose the flexible one is perfect for the odd application where a normal one gets fouled; can't think of any other advantage.

Downside might be a mushier brake with poorer modulation if the internal length doesn't remain contant when it flexes.

How are they constructed, anyway?

Rigid noodles are made in other angles besides the usual 90 degrees; 45 and 135 are also available for special jobs. I would expect that a rigid noodle would give a firmer brake action than a flex one but I have never used them so I can't say for certain.

If you have the room and use like Nokon bead and tube housing
you dont need a noodle at all..
