Does anyone use Vigors as their everyday wheelset? If so, I'm interested in hearing how they have held up.

For what it is worth, I'm 6'1", weigh 155 lbs, ride on roads that are of average smoothness/roughness and am looking for a high performance lightweight aero wheelset that can be ridden everyday (maybe I would have better luck finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but I'm searching anyway).

I don't use mine as an everyday set, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so if I had to. Another set to look at are Mike Garcia's Niobium 30's.

I here the MG Niobium 30's are great when ordered with the higher spoke count for everyday use. Also, if you are lighter weight, then the 20F/24R AC-420's have a good rep for everyday use.

They're probably to new to rate, but my 220 lbs had not disturbed my AC-420's in the least.

Thanks for the input all.

I did call an talk with Mike Garcia... He can build a set of his aero rims with the new White Industry H1 hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes for about the same price as I would probably find the Vigors on ebay. And with that configuration on the 20F/24R wheels the weight would be slightly less than the Vigors. Less of an aero profile but in theory more durable.

Makes me wonder how much performance (if any) I would give up with the 4mm less rim depth. I'm betting not enough for me to notice.

I'm all about heavy training wheels and fast race wheels. But I realize not everybody races.

I used to have Rolf Vector Pro tubulars. I managed to ruin the rear one after a few years. There is a lot of space between the spokes with that paired spoke design. Hit it right in between and you'll get a flat spot. A buddy of mine had the same problem. Other than that they make nice wheels. They did go for a long time before that happened.

I am 6' and weigh between 175 and 190 depending on how I'm eating,riding etc. I have ridden RPV's for about 5-7 k miles as an every day wheel along with my Ksyriums. The Ksyriums have about 10k miles on them. The RPV's have proven to be just about as durable or as durable...no issues yet. The RPV's climb better and are "considerably" faster downhill. My friends continue to be amazed at the difference they notice when I'm on the RPV's...one of the 2 best cycling products I ever chose. Buy them and you wont be sorry

I also have a pair of Rolf Vector Pros and am amazed at how beautifully true the've remained. I'd imagine the Vigors are every bit as strong.

Had a teammate with the comps. He kept breaking spokes 30 miles from home and the wheel wouldn't clear the frame so he would have to call his wife....

I have the Rolf Prima Vigor on one of my commuter bikes. I don't commute that far (4.5 miles) but I wouldn't have any reservations going longer distances on a regular basis. I rode the Prima Vigors on my first century and they were flawless.

Have any of you who ride the Vigors tried to take the decals off? I'm wondering if they are just stickers that can be removed or if they have a clear coat over them.

Does Mike take a while to respond? I've tried emailing him and leaving a voicemail and I have yet to recieve any responses from him.

Not sure about returning email or voicemails, but I can tell you that I called him yesterday and he answered the phone on the first ring. He had to check with one of his suppliers on product availability of something I was looking for and said he would call me back. I expected to hear from him in a day or two... but he called me back 10 minutes later.
