Replacing Crankset?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Replacing Crankset?

Hi, I need some help to change my crankset. I recently purchase a bike with all Ultegra components but the crankset is FSA Gossamer Compact 50/34 Crankset and FSA-mega-Expo BB. I would like to replace the Crankset with either to standard or Compact Ultegra 6700. What size BB would I need in order to replace the original BB? Can I change that to Ultegra BB30? Or is it better to go with other options for Crankset?
Thanks in advance

You will need a Shimano Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket like this one for any Shimano Hollowtech II crankset (like a 6700 series Ultegra): https://www.performancebike.com/bikes...LAID=859291241

BB30 will not be an option, the frame on a BB30 bike is not like the frame on a standard BB bike.

There is no difference in the BB on either a compact or stand crank. Smart move dump the fsa the are no good compared to the Shomano. You can find a 6600 crank and BB on eBay for less than 165$ I am sure. It will work as well as the 6700 you save cash. You swap out the crank in less than 20 minutes. Compact or standard no difference in the procedure just in the FD set up.

Oh it is just a standard external bearing BB with English threads. You pick up a park BB tool for about 25$ and this gets the cups on and off and sets the cranks. Google a YouTube video on how it is done. I upgraded my FSA mega exp to a Shimano 105 for $95 the bike shifts like a dream now. The funny thing is my FSA Carbon light standard double on my Motobecane Imm Spirit shifts like dream also but the cheaper fsa stuff is not as good
