I don’t have nearly the sense of humor about falling down and getting hit that I used to.

So I ordered one from excel. It was 28 dollars but after two days it still hadn’t shipped, my wife approved me to get one locally. I was shocked at the price, but every other tire was 20 to 30 dollars more.
While I was at the shop they had a wall of there bike shop name kits. I went over to look, I am all for wearing local clothing, thinking it would be some what cheap and I was way wrong. Long sleeve jersey was 85, short sleeve was 65. I am sure the quality is good, I was just shocked at the price.

Fell off my mountain bike today. First time since I bought it 2.5 years ago. I was just out for a short ride to loosen up. Had to go around a fence and there was a 4 or 5 inch dropoff. I must have slipped off that edge and slammed to the earth before I even knew I was falling. Knocked the wind out of me, something I haven't experienced since school days. Had to get up and ride home. Ribs hurt, hard to blow my nose or laugh. The worst is the pain inside the hip joint/groin area. Crap.

The rain just rolled in. Forecast is for heavy rain through the night and through the day tomorrow.

Thanks. The last time I crashed off road was 2007. I was descending a steep trail miles into the forest and I went over the bars and bounced down a cliff around 40 feet and landed in a creekbed with a bit of water. I had to ride 2+ hours to get out of there. That was my first crash on a mountain bike that was of any consequence.
Prior to that was my worst off-road crash when I got knocked off my motorcycle in 1983.
This time was much less of an adventure, just a simple mistake a few miles from home.
