I don't really have an answer for your question but wow! What's it like riding in Cambodia?

I don't have a specific recommendation, but it looks like you're looking for something that has a "straight steerer tube" and not a "tapered" one. you'll need to confirm the internal diameter of your head tube. if the ID at the bottom of is is 44mm, you can put an external cup for a tapered fork and use a more modern fork. forks still manufactured with straight steerers are harder to find because that's old technology.

I can't tell what kind of axle your bike uses from the photo, but it's likely a 9mm quick-release. that means you do NOT want a "boost" fork, nor one with with a 15mm thru axle. doing that would require a new front wheel (or at least a front hub if you're willing to build a new wheel from the rim down).

I'm not sure if you have access to it, but SR Suntour has an excellent upgrade program. Something like an XCR32 Air or Epicon can probably be found with a straight steerer and QR.

Where I live is a bunch of fairly flat single track and lots of gravel. Further north of me is some great double track up in the forest.
Rainy season can lead to some real clay mud.
