Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The reputation is really good flat protection but pretty rough ride. Since they are 28's you can drop the PSI and, I hope, have a reasonable ride quality.

I changed my rear tire mid-day during a week-long tour after my tubeless tire failed. I could instantly feel the ride difference.

Hang in there. It will get better sometime. Probably.

Let us know how they feel to you. I got several a while back and they feel sluggish to me. I don't get the physics of why a tyre would make a meaningful difference on speed, but it sure felt that way.

Thus, instead of putting on both wheels I have one Gatorskin and one GP5000 on the bike.

I have never used gatorskins and pretty much used exclusively GP4000s the past decade or so on my road bikes. I hope I am not missing out.

I don't actually believe that gatorskin FOMO is a thing.

I gave a Gatorskin to a friend of mine a couple of months ago.

It was a 23, however. #aeroiseverything

I wonder how many extra people will be tempted to peek into the thread, out of curiosity, upon seeing the XXX in the thread name.

I know for certain some people like to swing by periodically to make sure we're not getting away with anything they feel they can't get away with.

Sad.

Test road then didn’t feel terrible. After hearing how terrible these things are I did feel slower but it was prolly all in my head.

Velo is the GP 5000 on the front or rear?

Seems like most people are using these here. I bought one local and ordered one on excel. Plan is ride these for a little bit and then get the 5000 and save these for back up. If I don’t mind the ride then I’ll just ride then til the break. The shop wanted 85 for 32 gp 5000

I generally like to support the LBS, but since you can get tires online for HALF the LBS price, I can't justify paying retail for tires.

I rotate tyres front to back when I replace, so both.
