Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No free tix for family. But I am excited for her. I don't know if we can watch them on TV, they will probably be broadcasting chit-chat about how the Eagles are choking during half-time instead of showing the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band.

Oh since her school is closed for semester break, we have volunteered to host some of her marching band friends for Saturday night. Those band geeks are well-behaved, thankfully. I am happy to host them.

When you raise them right, their friends will be well-behaved too.

Sadly, I realized I will be unable to watch the game as I'll be in Maui.

Downhill skiing ftw. That said, my wife played varsity bball in college and that was the beginning of the end for her.

The great thing about the playoffs is that the Eagles can't really choke. With all their injuries they simply are not in the same league as any of the other teams in the NFC playoff picture.

Oh definitely, but I was thinking in terms of things that your average couch potato can and will go sign up for a the Y/ church/ whatever. Meaning things like softball, kickball, bowling, etc. I doubt many people suddenly start skiing out of the blue at age 40.

C'mon now, how are they going to pay these athletes if they have to provide free admission for high school band parents?

Maybe you could sit outside in the parking lot and fly a drone over to watch the ban from above.

I promise, I will pitch in to a GoFundMe account to help raise your bail, shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 days to come up with enough.

I liked it when I was younger, but nowadays If I'm going to cling to the hairy edge of control and get the crap scared out of me, I'd rather it was on nice, warm, soft, treeless, water.

...and preferably on someone else's boat.

Not in my book, but it sounds like we're arguing the same thing.

You are giving up too soon. I began skiing at about age 70 but then discovered the Olympics were out of my reach so gave it up. By the way, I have about $2000 wort of ski stuff I can give a good price on.

The Assos NOT SHORTS bibs that I ordered from Excel have arrived!

p.s. I think they still have some in Med and Lg for $98 which is a good buy. No need for me to post in the 41 to seek confirmation.
