Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another Manic Monday here. At work already. I console myself by saying it's job security.

Oh great news. They installed an upgrade to our electronic medical records system. The part that does prescriptions is not working. Gotta find an old-fashioned prescription pad!!

+1. I thank God my knees survived decades of basketball and other running activities. The last thing I want in my old age is to become immobile.

No kidding. I don't know if my knees could have stood up to ball sports. Half the guys I know have or need replacements.

Too many of the runners one sees really should be doing something else for exercise. Coaching can help the ones with the mannerisms and idiosyncratic, inefficient gaits, but no one seems to bother.

I would love an early quit today but it's not going to happen. We do have an early release for NYE tomorrow at 3PM.

I am definitely going to knock off early today and tomorrow.

How dumb do you have to be to chuck out or otherwise lose the stopper-handle thing that's needed to actuate the "safe" sink disposer in our break room? This is, like, the third time it's happened. We even had it sitting under a little sign saying "Don't throw this away, you need it to operate the disposer!"

Actually, dumb enough to throw the thing out is probably dumb enough to stick their hand in there and throw the wall switch.
