which power meter
I'd like to finally buy a power meter. Problem is that I expect to buy a new bike in a few years, and I expect that I'll move from SRAM to Shimano. The obvious solution would be to buy pedals, but I don't like the Look Keo cleats. Am I missing an obvious solution?

Several bike mfr's are selling bikes that already have power meters on the crank arm. When crank arms with them started coming on the scene they had some issues. Haven't followed close enough to say anything else, except that maybe they solved the issues since they seem to be offered more and more by bike mfr's.
Power meters on the rear hub and other places are still an option too. I keep holding out hope that Garmin will soon release an SPD version of the Vector 3's.

Rotor InPower.
- Their spindle length will work in virtually every road BB shell width out there
- The crankarms are some of the stiffest you can buy
- The meter itself runs on a single AA battery, which can be changed in 15 seconds without tools
- Can be found pretty darn cheap on eBay, I paid $350 for one and $275 for another

I have a single side 4iiii. Had the PM on my bike for two seasons. No complaints. Does everything a singe sided PM needs to do. Battery life is great. Can't recommend them enough.

I have owned 10 power meters over the years. For a spider based system I like Power2Max. I also have the Assioma Favero pedals which I can use for rental bikes when traveling and gym bikes, as well as my vintage bikes.
