My Wanderer Columbus SL frameset: Seat Tube 56,5cm C-C, Top Tube 55cm C-C, Weight 2569gr.
My '86 Raleigh Raleigh Super Course Reynolds 501SL framet set: Seat Tube 57cm C-C, Top Tube 56cm, Weight 2600g.
I would agree that 501SL is Reynolds version of Columbus SL.

Super informative. Thanks for the great desciption. I have a1983 Trek that has Reynolds 531 double-butted main triangle tubes.
I had a Lotus track bike with 531 straight guage. It was heavy and not nearly as responsive.

Zombie thread, but what the heck.
Reynolds 501 is a seamed, cold drawn, Chrome-Moly tube.
Reynolds 531 is a seamless, manganese molybdenum tube.
