Pink, White or Black? I have a black saddle to swap for the white one. Just can't decide. Open to opinions.

Leaning toward black, but white could also work.

Whitey white white.

I'd actually hunt down some Cinelli Calleido tape, is perforated with a little multiple color coming thru from underneath, goes well with a bright paint color like...

From an aesthetic lens, just like shoes always match belt on humans, seats always match tape. And cable housings, when possible. Unless paint scheme dictates otherwise in special cases (My SP1000 is one of those cases, rear quarter is dark grey, front quarter metallic black)

Black definitely doesn't show dirt as much, though. Still, I would go pink here for the aforementioned "special case" reason. Let me find my example... I opted to inverse on this one because finding a grey Flite was impossible.

Edit: Now I'm looking at this, I'm feeling like Black would've probably been the better option!

I'd normally recommend black for all wraps; however the white saddle and lighter frame color demands something else. White would work; however it does soil easily. Pick the brand of tape you want and then choose among the colors they offer. If you are adept in a graphics editor (I use GIMP) you can try out different colors virtually.

Not black. I'm of the saddle-wrap-cable all-match aesthetic also, but on this bike, going all black would serve to effectively admit you don't care and are willing to let them all visually disappear. Also, going all white would bring the bars out of invisibility, but would emphasize those huge honking brifters. I think going pink with saddle-bars-cable would be best - provided you can get them all the same shade. Otherwise, breaking the all-match might be necessary.

btw, front wheel qr is on the wrong side.

White tape and saddle (and cable), but stem and seatpost should be black.

The obvious choice would be white, but after a few rides the bars would look like crap, assuming your keeping the cloth tape. To stay with white, try Benetto, or a similar poly tape that’s easy to clean. If it were mine, I’d just swap out for the black saddle, and leave the bars alone. Nice bike by the way!

Saddle and tape need to match. And unless its a contrasting color, the housing should match(same general color).
So black saddle and tape here. The cables are dark gray already too.

For this sort of thing though, I go based on saddle first since thats a fitment issue. If you have a white saddle that you genuinely like, then cool. I wouldnt use a saddle that wont be fun for hours of riding, even if it is the color you want.

I'm in the matchy-match bandwagon. White tape to match the white saddle. That said, pink with white cable housing is an acceptable alternate.

Prepare yourselves for the worst graphic design editing work ever GOLD ! Olympic medals, matches the "FUSO" text colour, nice contrast with the pink and black and silver, add a little more "bling"...

I vote for white and white. I use Fizik Microtex white tape, and it stays looking pretty clean.

The white Fi’zik tape on my Marinoni (believe the current name is “Microtex Classic”) has stayed remarkably clean with zero effort for two years. As others have mentioned, the color of brake and shift housings can be used to bring out details. If it was my build, I’d cross the STI cables going to the stops, then uncross them under the DT to prevent chafing of the HT lugs.

When renovating a similar Fuso, documented in this C&V thread, we had fun matching the finishing bar tape to the three-color accent stripes (Post #19 , fifth photo), although this one has five-color stripes that might be trickier. And be sure to check Post #27 .

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...enovation.html

Hope you’ve logged your Fuso on Dave Moulton’s registry.

Black wrap, black saddle, black housings.
Triangulates the black, adds contrast to the top tube.
Pleases the brain.
