Motivate me!!
Since my fall on a Labor Day 60 miler where I broke two ribs I have only done one short equipment check ride. I must admit I've lost my urge to get back at it. Maybe it has been because of the weather here in NC cooling off and I have no cold weather gear or maybe I've just plain lost my motivation but I really want to get back to riding.
Here in NC we have nice warm days up through Christmas so I need to get back at it.
So, tell me something that will motivate me before I start gaining weight and becoming a couch potato.
No need to be gentle.

Start commuting to work if it is close. If it is not then go by bike for general errands. Find a group to ride with. Get your feet wet and get your confidence back.
You fell, you got an ouchie, you get up throw some dirt on it and get back to it. Others can just HTFU, others need to rebuild confidence.

Breaking ribs is no joke. Sorry to hear about that. I'm guessing/hoping they've healed by now. Still, it's a good reason to lose some motivation...!
I'd wait until you feel it again, otherwise it'll just be a chore, and you won't ride regularly. Can you find another way to pass your time, being active and outdoors?

just go and do ten minutes even if you don't feel like it. 9 times out of 10 it turns out to be longer.

This is helping, I can take the "ribbing". I'm planning to ride this afternoon after work. I was going to yesterday but my riding buddy, my 23 year old son wasn't up for it. If I have to ride solo, so be it today.
I'm mostly healed up but still get pain occasionally and it's always improving.

The longer you wait, the harder it's going to be to get started again.

After my crash in August that nearly killed me, I'm waiting for my rear wheel to get back from being trued so I can ride on the trainer for the winter. I'm pedaling a few miles a week in therapy, everytime they raise my level, I add 5 RPM... I will ride my bike again, hopefully by summer...
(Just a reminder, I broke my neck in that wreck, at the base of the skull. CRUSHED the T9 vertebra and damadeged T7, 8 and 10, and have my back fused from T7-12. I broke some ribs, some road rash, crushed a vein in my neck... Docs and nurses thought I was nuts when I said I was riding again. Wife is terrified... And the friend I was riding with that day, is building me a recumbent trike.)

Not safe for work
zjrog gets my vote for "Dude! You're Awesome!". Good luck with therapy and I hope you get back on the road.
My main motivating trick is put on my bike clothes after lunch. I work from home and don't have to meet clients so I can spend the entire day in pyjamas and wooly socks but this tends to make me lazy by late afternoon. So far putting on my bike clothes after lunch is working well for me. Oh sure, sometimes I end up visiting the library wearing bike clothes and the nice lady in the vegetable store no longer blinks twice at my leopard print jersey but my strategy ends a key de-motivator: can't spare the time. Dressed in bike costume means I don't have to whine my way out of changing my clothes (or at least getting out of my pyjamas).
