Whoever makes Pedro's brand products is stupid
I mean seriously. Even IF the owner's name is Pedro, why do you have to name it after yourself. Especially with such a stupid name. My name is Dennis and yes, it's bit goofy, but if I start bike grease and lubricant brand, I wouldn't call it "Dennis's".
When I see Pedro's brand stuff in stores, I want to buy it since it has a good reputation, but I end up getting something else. Who would want a seatpack with Pedro's written on it in huge letters? Who would buy a lubricant made by Pedro?
I'm sure I'm not to only one. Who else here has considered buying Pedro's brand products and then got something else because of the name? They losing tons of moolah because of their ******** name!

So you buy your stuff for what it looks like, not for what it does?
Why does the name "Pedro" bother you so darn much?

I use Pedro's Ice Wax, and "somebody" decided to put a long cone shaped extension on the end of the plastic bottle. MUCH easier to use now.

wouldn't " Dennis' " be more correct?
i've never had a problem with Pedro's products. but often names for stuff get silly - it's part of our saturated consumer culture. you need a hook to get folks to look at your product.
edit: danm typos.

I'm just saying you got cool sounding brands, then you got Pedro's.
You don't see how their name is not smart business wise?

i use pedro's tools and grease, etc., but i'm the same in that i wouldn't go advertising the name. maybe i'd get a t-shirt if they had a cool slogan or something, but no -- it's just "pedro's."

Pedro has a stash, is great at hooking up with chics, and rides a sweet sledgehammer.
How could you not buy his products?

I absolutely agree! They should change the brand name to Retro Grouch and send me a royalty on every product sold.

It is funny...naming a product after yourself or another. I laugh everytime I go to the LBS and pass up the Kenda Brand tires for the more sensible Bicycle Tire For Sale Brand tires....
They lose money because of their name? I don't know, could be it's just your money. I just wonder if it works or not when I'm buying.

Company was started making lube and tire levers a while back by two young guys. It was named after a mutual friend; Pedro.
Not sure if Pedro got royalties or equity for his name.
Grew it over the years into a broadly distributed, diversified accessories company. One of the most recognized brands in the cycling industry. Sold to larger company for undisclosed amount that was unquestionably substantial.
Yeah, these guys are really stupid.

Pedro rules. I like the name. Parks is another band, just like Pedro and starts with P.
I like their Ice wax, chain cleaner and BIo degreaser. Good stuff.
