New pedals and suspension post - Help

I got a mountain bike a couple years back and over that time and really gotten into mountain biking. I'm still using my first bike, and now that riding the trails has become a frequent practiced hobby, I wanna make some upgrades to my bike. I feel their is no reason to buy a brand new bike. Other than basic tune-up purchases, such as new brake pads and a new chain, I want to invest in clipless pedals (and shoes) and a suspension post/seat. Any recommendations? I have a tight budget.

NIce set of Egg Beaters for a very nice price.

Here is a "cheap" seat post. But to tell you the truth, it scares me and I would rather save for a drop post.

Good riding and post some pics of your trails if you get em.

Thanks for the links and advice. I'll bring my camera out next time i hit the trails.
I read good reviews about the cane creek thudbuster... Maybe ill save my funds for that.
Anyone have opinions on suspension posts... Do they actually serve as addutional suspension for those who ride a hardtail like myself?

Suspension post vs. dropper post. Two entirely different beasts.
