August 14, 2016-First day of epic 3400 mile cross country ride from Florence, OR to Boston, MA over 41 days (plus 2 days off the bike).
JimfromBoston provided an incredible guide across Boston to the Atlantic the last day.
August 14, 2017-A tandem joins the fleet which my wife and I ride 450 miles together from West Jefferson, NC to the Nc beach over a week.
My super Sag lady.
Pacific Ocean
Headed to Boston Day 1!
Huge hematoma on right hip. Drained off several pints of blood.
My new parts.
Stitches in elbow and chin.
The beach bike at Sunset beach.
Or maybe it’s a dunes bike.
Bike Beach Bum.
My wife and me headed to the NC coast on Cycle NC IN 2017.
August 14, 2018-Nasty crash with a bounce off the asphalt results in a new hip.
August 14, 2019-Debated riding this morning but nasty Thunderstorm wins. Will probably just stick to the beach bike!!

We then had a celebratory dinner at a fine Boston seafood restaurant (Legal Seafood Harborside). We re-hashed our respective cross-country trips, including the current one with Jeri’s point of view. While jp was away from the table, I asked her how she liked the trip…”I had a blast.”

The trip was back in May to June of 1977 on our honeymoon as we were moving from Michigan to Boston and managed a two-month hiatus from work...
so many of the memories are deeply embedded in my mind. Every year beginning on our anniversary on April 30 for the next eight weeks I frequently try to recall where we were at that particular time on that date back in 1977…

One of our local 60+ cycling legends set new mileage records for himself this month. Even enduring the Carolinas heat and humidity. He sure hasn’t been bored with his retirement!!
