For such a dense area, I actually never find anything. The city is constantly being cleaned, with street cleaners always that day after bin collection day.

I occasionally see waste after a heavy storm and broken glass on a SAT morning but on the whole, it's not so much.

Stuff coming out of the see is a different story

Finally, something that wouldn't slash my Schwalbe Marathon.

Where the hell do you guys live that you find some things on the ground?

Today it was a mangled stuffie, a horse or something, with stuffing oozing out. I didn't even slow down.

Dudes! You guys find the best stuff! (envy x 100!) My haul tends more toward trash and dead animals. Last one was a tiny ruby-throated hummingbird. Very sad. Also a bicycle; loaded up with someones stuff (aka trash), it was sitting on a side street, well into the lane, all day yesterday. No idea what that was about.

Found this guy a few months ago. It was open on the ground and had taken a few car tires, but amazingly the blade is still straight. Pretty sharp, too.

A couple of weeks ago I found a piece of blue 1" nylon strap on the ground. No hooks.

Then, out utility riding, I had a load to tie down and it came in very handy.

I noticed another piece of blue nylon strap along the road a few days ago, and picked it up Tuesday.

Looking at the strap, it had a loop tied in the end exactly like I did when I used it a week ago.

this past few weeks I've been passing two lengths of nylon strap with road-smashed hardware. Not planning on picking it up.

This morning, an unopened (thus protected from yesterday's rain) 4 1/4oz bag of Chester's cheese-flavored Puffcorn. I love cheetos, so I will enjoy these!

Branches. My lucky find yesterday morning was eucalyptus branches; I only had to stop four (4) times to take them off the road.

A kitten today; about 4 months old, dark grey, fresh, probably a feral from the pasture. Poor thing. And of course the usual broken glass, eucalyptus debris, and trash, as well as some spectacular sunsets.

Did you take the kitten home? I did that a few months ago. My kid has him now, and he doesn't remember me.

Cats are such adorable little ingrates.

Did you post pics in the "show your cat" thread? I want to see.

Yes I did here. His name has officially been changed to Guapo (Spanish for handsome) which seems suitable.

Ah awesome. Black cats are the best. I had a black cat that I found as a stray kitten many years ago, ended up having him for about 14 years. He was big and awesome and dumb as a box of hammers.

I'm sorry, I should have explained. It was dead next to the road, less than a day, I think.

Years ago I found a ferret . Friendly, came up to me, and I picked it up. But, as I headed home, it got loose, so I hoped it headed back to its home.

A few days ago I thought I had found a nice pressure gauge.
But it turned out to be a stupid vaping pen.

Thanks Tom; it's probably for the best, as our cats are old and cranky. Black cats are popularly referred to as house panthers. Apt.
