Should I Sell My Gunnar Crosshairs?

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

That requires a new front wheel, too. And if OP actually wants better braking, it’ll have to be a hydraulic disc brake – which will require a new brifter. Starting to sound expensive. And a little bit dangerous, having a much more powerful brake in front than in the rear.

Why? You want your front brake to be more powerful. It does most of your braking.

On my race bike, the rear is set up “soft” as more of a slowdown brake, while the front is set to really stop me.

Keeping it...

I decided to keep it. Going to get some compressionless housing and call it a day.

ha, hadn't realized you didnt pist a pic till just now.
That gearing is HUGE! Some strong pulling right there.

I bought compressionless brake housing for the frame I just built and it's really nice.i half want to try it on a cantilever brake bike to feel the difference there.

Yep, I’m in Chicago and most of my time is spent on pavement and I do swap based on location/terrain. But... I love big chainrings.

Ah, that gearing makes sense then.
I grew up in the north and northwest suburbs and the only place I've seen flatter than Chicagoland is the MS Delta.
