Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

His stuff is nice but is seriously a super nice humble guy. He built me one for my Crumpton as well. The price was less than a high end seatpost saddle combo.

Unfortunately, I still tinker around with saddle position too much to get a one piece like that.

Just ordered a Shimano 6800 front hub for my new wheelset project. Haven't ordered a rim and spokes yet, but it'll be a Pacenti SL-23 and Sapim CX-Rays.

Got these for a nice price on Ebay. Doubt they'll make much of a difference at my fitness level but on paper they are a huge upgrade from my current R500s

Caved in and got a Sonic Fluid indoor trainer on sale with a CycleOps front block riser for the frigid sub-0 days ahead.Mock setup in the living with my motivation on the tube for next season. :-)Heading outside for a quick ride now to enjoy what's sure to be one of the last days in the 40s for a few months...

Already dark out by the time I get off of work, so I've been limiting my outdoor riding to weekends. I've had my trainer set up for awhile now.

I'd swap that rear tire out with a smooth tread to cut down on the noise from the trainer. Also, go out and buy some foam mats to put under it or you'll get a hell of a lot of noise off that hardwood floor!

RULE #35
// No visors on the road.
Road helmets can be worn on mountain bikes, but never the other way around.

Why not stick you tools in you jersey pockets?
I don't care what others think about my saddle bag.
I like having an extra bottle in case I get dehydrated.

Fizik Arionne VS. I like how flat it is front to back -- easy to change positions on.

Mos def! I'm trying to like the stock Alias on my bike hooked up to the trainer, thinking the cutout would be nice. I can deal with it but it doesn't fit like all my Ariones.

Nice purchase on the 7800's! IMO 7800 is Shimano's best looking group ever. Its simple, & classy looking.
I'm always on the lookout for 7800 groups, I currently have one in use, & one waiting to be used.
