Sapim DB Race Spokes Sourcing
Wandering the internet, places seem out of stock, only black, or make me buy nipples plus spokes......Anyone have a good source for these? Post covid some of the prior places I bought from are gone

I also thought it was strange that they didn't send me a follow-up email with a tracking number, which, in this day and age, is unacceptable.
However, they do answer their phone.

In another thread, I mentioned that I've only bought once from them, but the experience left much to be desired. For one of the wheels, the set of spokes was not threaded properly. I couldn't thread by hand a nipple on any free spoke. The other wheel's spoke threads were just fine.
Another forum member replied he had a positive experience with them.

Used to get custom Sapim and Phil spokes on eBay. Some sellers are still on there. Most recently though, I went with 2.0/1.8 Pillar spokes from AliExpress to rebuild a set of wheels.

For regular DB spokes, Pillar, Wheelsmith and DT are all of excellent quality and don't look any different in a finished wheel. I have seen more failed Sapim spokes than any other high end brand, so I don't think hunting for them is worth the hassle.
My most recent personal build was with Pillar 2.0/1.8s from bikehubstore. I would definitely get those again for the quality/price.

Sunny Spokes seems to have them in stock, both black and silver.
I’ve used them a bunch of times, lengths are always accurate and they ship superfast.

Starbike sells Sapim cheap enough to buy a lot of spokes for a number of planned wheelbuilds, and pay the extra shipping from Germany.
