Picked up a new bike today.

I've been wanting a single speed road bike for awhile now. After doing tons of research i pulled the trigger on a Mercier Kilo TT. Really nice steel frameset. I havent had a chance to get any miles on it yet, due to work. But, so far I'm happy with it.

I bet it's fun to ride. You'll have to add yours to Part II of the Mercier Kilo TT thread:

You say it's lugged?

It's not lugged, I think I typed that out of habit. All my other bikes are lugged. It's still nice though...

Wait, what?

This is an option?

Next you'll mention that you didn't have to repack the hubs and search around for a bearing race that hasn't been made in 25+ years.

You've must not seen any of my other posts. I usually repaint my bikes, due to the rough shape they are in when I get them.

I've got a Kilo too and it's a fine bike. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship and finish quality. It was originally an S3X but the original owner bought it just to harvest those parts and then sold me what was left. I converted it to flat bars and thought I would use it as an around town / coffee shop bike...but the novelty wore off pretty quick and I have not ridden it in a year. I will probably give it to my brother. I am moving soon and need to shed a few bikes I don't ride.

No, I haven't seen your other posts - yet. Just got here!

Pretty much every project bike I've dragged home for the past several years has needed a repaint. So, picking up a bike that you can take off the rack and just ride, without repainting / swapping parts / overhauling things is foreign to me at this point.

The Mercier looks sharp!

How's the Cinelli coming along?
