Campagnolo 8 speed cassette and chain

I am looking for advice options for replacement of an 8 speed Campagnolo 12-23 cassette. The chain is well worn and must be replaced as well. It is on an old Campagnolo drivetrain including the crankset, front and rear derailleur. It appears 8 speed Campagnolo 12-23 cassettes are no longer available. The freehub apparently will only accept a Campy style cassette. Are there any options for keeping the existing freehub and finding a Campy-compatible 8 speed cassette? Does the chain have to be Campagnolo specific or will any 8 speed suffice? Any suggested sources for an original style Campy 8 speed cassette? I see there are 9 speed options available but no 8 speeds.

@ARider2 - There are limited options. I don't know them but do have an 8v Campagnolo bike.
WRT Chain, any good one will work. Look on Amazon for KMC, SRAM or even Campagnolo. A 9v will work too.
Check Branford Cycles on the topic of hub spline configurations to help identify which one you have and then you will know what to look for. There are three configurations for 8v cassettes.

Check Miche. They still make Campy 8 sp cassettes. I can't speak for their quality, some have good experiences with durability others say not so much. Miche Primato 8 M cassette 8-speed | BIKE24 In stock but from Germany so may take awhile to ship and shipping ain't cheap. I've purchased from this place and highly recommend. You may find a better deal with some more searching.

@SJX426 that is a great resource for identifying the different Campy freehub body styles. Thanks for that!
@Crankycrank thanks for the suggestion on the Miche brand cassette. I will check that one out.

As CC and paulcal said ^^^

I JUST got the Miche Primato 8 speed Campy replacement from Bikeinn. It took about 3 weeks to get here.

There was a place in Canada that was 25.00 more and would have got here sooner, but I was in no hurry

Fits and works perfect.

It replaced an 8 speed Campagnolo.

AND...Miche is made in Italy !!!!!

Well worth the wait

Rebuilding a cassette and hub used to be just not worth the time and money. Especially with the at one time cheap Shimano Freewheels and hubs. But lately I have not been able to find even my cheap hubs at a reasonable price. So I am reluctantly refurbishing/rebuilding some of my old freewheels and hubs. Not really a big deal. I just thought I would mention that in case you should consider it...

Note: Great winter time project!!!

I have Campy 8 speed chorus exa drive. It has an extra spline, so nothing fits but exa drive. I also have a Miche cassette, and use a combination of the both cogs.Keep an eye on the Miche cogs, as they’re not even nearly as durable as Campy. I have an extra Campy cassette also if interested. This week just upgraded to Campy CX11 crankset 50/34. Game changer! SRAM chain as well, but Campy 9 sp. chain will work, just haven’t tried that one.
