and who polices the police?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...-limited-value

In Seattle a police officer Kevin Dave was driving at 74 mph in a 25 mph area and hit and killed 23 year-old Jaahnavi Kandula. The officer was recorded laughing and saying "Yeah, just write a check, "$11,000. She was 26 anyway, she had limited value."In this example the victim was a pedestrian but it could easily have been a bicyclist. The myth is that cops are the victims of gun violence when in reality most die from heart attacks or from high speed auto chases.

Had a cyclist killed here recently when struck by an off duty cop. He was cleared by the city police he worked for but the report on the internal investigation was sparse, merely repeating the cop's story that the cyclist unexpectedly swerved in front of him. Given the time and place there had to have been witnesses, but none were mentioned. The state police investigation is still open as it happened on a state road outside city limits, but I don't know if the results on that will ever be reported. The local press isn't always reliable following up.

He's probably trying to tie it into the hit-and-run and killing of the retired police chief who was cycling in Las Vegas.
