Bike stand recommendations
Did a quick search but didn't see much on the first page or two so here goes. Looking for recommendations on a bike stand where I can store the bike at the end of the day as well as something that can be used to also work on the bike if need be (bonus points if it'll raise the tire off the ground). I don't have a lot of garage space so I can't spring for anything too big / wide.
Recommendations?
Thanks!
PS. I love these simple Bike hands - https://a.co/d/bIyizS0 - but I also have a few bikes with disc brakes which this claims to be not so good with....plus I can't raise the rear wheel off the ground for any rear wheel work.

Get a repair stand that folds and put a hook into the ceiling.

I'd like to get something that big but I was hoping for something I can keep on the ground similar to what I linked for now - those other 'real deal' stands will have to wait - but bonus if I can get the rear wheel off the ground too. Not sure if anyone has a motorcycle but similar to pit bull motorcycle stands.

The problem with the pitbull type stand for a bicycle is the lack of weight. The slightest nudge and it would fall over. For parking it may be OK but I don't see it working for any kind of maintenance. Lots of threads about inexpensive repair stands have come up in the past. As I recall Aldi sold some for 30 bucks or thereabouts that people were fairly happy with.

I use an older version of the Lifu quick stand https://www.amazon.com/IceToolz-Stan.../dp/B002NXHQSG for some of my bikes, it engages the rear triangel and keeps the rear wheel off the ground for chain lube. Alternatively a Topeak Flash Stand would park the bike and keep a wheel off the ground https://www.topeak.com/us/en/product...53-flashstand-

Park PCS 10 is great since it has a well made clamp that is also easy to use.
The downside is that while it can telescope taller/shorter, the joint area doesnt clamp well and the bike moves around in the stand due to the stand's arm swinging too easily. Usually this movement is ok as it makes getting to areas of the bike easier, but when you are trying to wrench down on something with a lot of force, its annoying for the arm to swing and bike to move.

I have this one and really like it. Only down side is you have to remove front wheel every time but I like this type better than the traditional.

I use the Park PRS-25 for my portable stand. The hex shape tubing makes it so it doesn't twist arond like the PCS-10 and packs up nicely.

I got a work stand at Walmart for about $50 delivered to my door and it has yet to let me down. it folds up small and it is a real work stand---that it, it actually works as a work stand.
I might spring for a Park Tools version if I was using the thing to Repair bikes eight hours a day, six days a week, but I Ride bikes and only repair them as needed. The Walmart stand works fine.

I too, made one from wood. Great for display, but there is no way it will work as a repair stand. Maybe for lubing the chain, but that is it.
The wood looks great, though, and I use them to display some bikes. Much better looking than the metal ones I have seen.

This works for me. Sounds like you're looking for secure storage and off the ground repair capabilities. This has a small footprint and is sturdy. A repair stand is more convenient but for occasional repair this will do. Bike is supported under top tube and everything is accessible. Bike height off the ground is adjustable by moving the stands arms. Set to a comfortable height once and you're all set. It's on sale too.
Good luck.

I got this ... i think with tax and shipping it was $54 delivered. I really like it.
Eventually i am sure the plastic junctions will wear out .... which is why it wouldn't work for a shop stand, which got constant use. For me, Using it only a few times a week, i think it will last for the rest of my life ... and I have already thought of a few ways to fix it if needed.
As far as holding the bike securely, being adjustable, and being convenient ... i don't see anywhere it is lacking.

I got this and its all I need. Looks and feels like nothing special, but once the bike is on, its great.
