Canyon Roadlite 7 vs Roadlite CF 7
Hi, yes, another new user looking for a product recommendation. Sorry and thank you in advance
I cycle commute in London, 20 to 30k a day, six days a week. My current bike is a 2015 Specialized Hardrock which I have upgraded to the last bolt.
Went to a Giant store yesterday and I felt that the salesman was trying too hard to sell their Fastroad Advanced 1.
So the question is, how much more of a bike am I getting in terms of performance when choosing the carbon instead of the aluminium version of Roadlite?

Unless you have secure indoor bike storage at your job that doesn’t require locking your bike, I would not get carbon. It’s too susceptible to side loads and impacts. Aluminum will be much more durable if locked to a rack or pole.
Carbon may be a bit lighter, but the weight of the bike overall depends. As for performance, I just finished a ride with a friend who has a metal bike. I have carbon. He is faster, better on hills, and can ride further.
