good point.
photo editing was an important part of my job for a long time, and for the series of the 76 ride, whoever set it up did a very good job of selecting the photos. Flowed along nicely.

I lie on my closed cell foam pad. If it's hot and don't want clothing on (at the risk of oversharing), I'll lay my clothing on the pad and sleep on that.

Sounds like a really good alternative to a bag. Any special advice on a foam pad? Thought about air mattress, but the pad is simple and easy to set up, which is to my liking.

No special advice. I'm a back sleeper so I don't need much of a pad, and sometimes go without if I'm going to be camping on grass or leaf duff. I carry a Ridgerest on the bike and a Z-rest when hiking. I'm all for simplicity and durability. I try to stay away from gear that comes with a repair kit.
