I was wondering if anyone waxed their chains. When I overhauled my bike last summer I opted for wax. Curious how y'all like it (or not)...

Love the wax, and use it on my road bike too. So clean! For my track bike I have two chains so I can just swap in a freshly waxed chain and drop the dry on in the wax when it's convenient.

I ride a Pro-Lite Trentino. Happy with the bike. One of a very small number of brands that had a track bike with the right size and geometry that fits me.
The only 'issue' i've had with it is the length of the head tube, which at 130mm has made getting low enough on pursuit bars a challenge. But this is unlikely to be an issue for the greater majority of riders.
(random observation, the BB drop is 50mm)

I'm really curious about titanium track frames

The frame is supposed to be completed by the end of this week, so maybe I'll be able to race it on the weekend of the 25th. Given its geometry and titanium's properties, I am really hoping that it will feel a lot like my steel Paramount. I have been racing the Paramount and my carbon Pinarello back-to-back and I'm finding the I prefer racing on the Paramount. Despite being heavier, it is much more compliant, so it makes the track surface feel smoother and faster.

Since using wax, it's a convenience and cleanliness godsend. I don't have any issues with it at all.

All good, see how it goes. My reservation with that product is that it only rubs on the chain. The place where you really need the lubricant is in between the rollers and the pins, and this stuff doesn't actually get there. I've read the reviews and they're all new users stoked at not having dirt on their chain any more. Try it and see, but I have my reservations.

but I'm not sure the plastic will help.
I will try this product and tell you guys how this performs

Just back from Tuesday night at t-town. Pretty nice facility and some great racing. I didn't ride, but the 333 doesn't look super different than 250. I expected it to look flatter than it did. I'm sure I'll notice more when I ride it. Some pretty fast guys there for just being Tuesday.
Rode about an hour 45 before, I'm fat and out of shape and it's hilly. Beautiful country though. Amazing roads, very little traffic, great views. I got passed by cars maybe 10 times, instead of 200. Excited to be here.

Yeah, I heard about that, lol. I'm already plenty heavy to be a real sprinter, I don't need any wings to help me out.

Tuesday nights are pretty fast. A lot of the Pro-Am field is the Friday night pros. I'm racing with the Stagiaires, which is cat 2-3, and that's plenty fast for me!
Saturday master's racing is a bit more low-key. Still fast and fun, but nothing like Tuesdays.
See you there!

Yeah, I'm a 4 on the track, although my license is expired. I'll hopefully get out there to race eventually. It'll probably be a while though.

I am going to SCI-Arc this fall, but I pretty old for a freshmen(I moved a lot since when I was young)
but SCI-Arc does not support any sports team, so they don't have any sports team.
However, I really want to make a sports team(track cycling).
Can anyone give me an advice?
Please help young trackies

Just watch out for potential incompatibility between the thread standards on different brands of hubs and lock rings - one brand of lock ring may be easier to cross-thread on or otherwise damage other brands of hubs. I think this doesn't come up much in this forum because most people who change gears frequently (active track riders as opposed to the street fixie crowd) don't use lock rings.
But one day, I will be using cogs without a lock ring.
Also I am using Dura-ace hub, so I think I don't have to worry about messing up the thread.
Thanks

In college there is a distinction between a "Team" and a "Club" (sometimes called a "Club Team"). Teams are subject to NCAA rules and whatnot. Clubs, are just that...clubs. You can probably start one fairly easily. You will probably have to talk to the college administration and find out what to do. Maybe something like write a document stating your purpose etc...
But, now this means that you are in the Club-runnin' business which is essentially people management.
Some clubs actually get funding for events. Again, ask questions and fill out paperwork.
Yes, you do need a lockring. It's a safety measure for all riders.
I know there is debate about whether a lockring is "needed" or not.
The bigger question is, "Why not use it?" That's how the system was designed. It's a safety feature. It doesn't take much time to use. And think about it. Most people use a flip/flop hub for the training wheel with the same warmup and race cogs on each site. And they leave the same cog on the race wheel/disc. So, changing cogs happens a lot less than changing/flipping wheels or changing chainrings...so why not?

I will definitely ask the school aboit the club.
Also what do you mean by funding?
Are you talking about funding from the school?
When we were discussing about lock ring last time.
I was thinking exactly like you.
Anyway lock ring does not effect your performance

if you started a club, you could use money to get kits, and to help new members get certified to ride thet rack.
