110 Highs and 300 hurdles, high jump, 1600 meter relay.
I see little correlation with biking.

I ran 400 and 800 both solo and relays and occasionally 4x200. Indoor I ran 300, 500 and relays. I also triple jumped (poorly) because we were required to do a field event

Ran track in high school, one year of college. Coach was a d!ck. I wasn't the only one who gave it up, to say the least. Sad, really.
800m, 400m, occasionally the mile and the 4x8/4x4.
Strengths on the bike include climbing and the bridging of gaps on the flat.

I used to be a pretty good thrower back in high school and i am now a high school discus coach in my spare time. I've just recently taken up road cycling in hopes of getting rid of the college beer gut i have acquired.

Mile, 2 mile, Cross Country in HS and totally sucked at them all. Like really sucked.
But it turns out (20+ years later) I'm a pretty decent endurance track cyclist (pretty much mass start only, though I'll do 1-2 pursuits/team pursuits a year). Kind an all arounder ability wise - decent sprint for an endurance guy, lot of endurance for a sprinter, not the best at any of them but I make it work ok. Had my best season ever as a 40 yo racing 1/2 and masters.
Don't do many road races or crits because it's too much trouble, and track is too much fun.

I quit track in 10th grade to focus on basketball.
My strengths are bunny hopping road kill and cursing at motorists.

I ran in HS (xc, 1600m, and 3200m). My best 5k is in the high 17's, best mile is 4:59 and best 2-mile is 10:59. My strengths in cycling are looking good in my new teamkit and my weakness is sprinting (in all seriousness, I don't have any real strengths, but if I had to put a nail on my strengths it would be short, steep climbs).

I ran cross country as cross training for cycling. As a cyclist, my weakest points were climbing and sprinting. My strengths were tactics and pacing/endurance. I was a skinny twig, so I know why I wasn't a good sprinter, but having lived in the hills I couldn't figure out why I was such a poor climber.

I ran track & cross country in H.S. The 400 was my best event, but I ran everything from 200 to 3200, plus cross country events were 5k in the fall. I performed average at best in most events. The biggest thing I take away from the experience is the understanding/knowlege about how to work/train/push myself mentally & physically.
As far as bicycling, I don't race or ride in groups so I don't really know what my relative strengths might be. Psychologically, I enjoy the challenge of climbing but I don't think I'd relish sprinting as much because I have an aversion to crashing. It seems like sprinting lends itself more to taking risks to get an edge, whereas climbing is just brute force hard work. I'm more of a nose to the grindstone kind of person than a gambler.

I was a sprinter on the junior high track team for all of about 5 weeks. My best event was the 220 (now the 200m, I guess). My "best event" on the bike is Climbing, followed closely by Unintentionally Dropping The Group Every Time I Take Off From A Stop Light.

When I was in 9th grade I ran the 1600 in 4:42, and I thought I was pretty hot *****. By the time I was a senior I never managed anything better than 4:28-- which I have to admit isn't too bad, but nothing like I thought I'd be running earlier in my H.S. career. Burnt out, and wishing to experience other things I didn't run in college until my senior year when I ran cross country. I was never the runner that I was in H.S.
In the U.S., we tend to overtrain our young runners, burning them out and robbing them of their potential. Look at the world stage in track and XC... we should be so much better than we are. There is a kid in my town-- Tommy Gruenwald-- who is the best runner ever produced from this area. He is a senior this year, and as a junior he broke 9 minutes in the 3200. And this past fall he broke the Van Cortlandt park cross country course record. Think about that..... One would think that we'll see gold medals on him one day in the Olympics, but if what I've observed time and time again is any indication, it probably wont happen. (Not that I'm not cheering for him-- a women in my club teaches German at his H.S. and says that he is an amazingly nice kid)
Anyway... as a cyclist, I am pretty decent, I guess. But sadly, I really don't think that my abilities as a runner ever translated that well to cycling. This past weekend I rode 48 miles with the fast guys in my club (a casual ride, sustaining an average speed of a hair under 20 mph) but I got hopelessly dropped at around the two hour mark. Poor training? Poor nutrition? Inherent suckiness? I don't know.
All I can say is that cycling has given me a new lease on life. When I look back on my running career, all I see is disappointment; goals that were never realized. This time around however, I have no expectations. I ride because I love to ride. I improve as best as I can, but I am training within myself. There are no more state meets to qualify for. There are no more school records to dream about. It's just me and the road. It's what running might have been.

I ran 440 and 220 in school, can only remember my 440 time 50.25 sec. I am average in all respects as a cyclists, but appear to be very good at short, very steep climbs.

In high school I ran the half mile, mile, and cross country. Totally sucked at anything under that - not a sprinter at all. I also pole vaulted, which I loved. Wish I still could, but it's not really a recreational sport, is it?
My running abilities directly relate to my cycling - I'm a killer climber and still a terrible sprinter. BTW - I really can't run anymore - shin splints .

I ran xc in HS. I am a great endurance cyclist and decender. I'm also a faster runner now than I was then.
My gf was an college all american runner, she's a great climber and just an all around powerhouse in the bike.

Hmmm... I didn't run, other than warm ups .... I was a state discus thrower though. Also threw shot & javelin. My cycling strengths are slow, flat rides on a nice bike

That's a good time for an elite senior, even better for a school kid

I ran XC in high school and XC and Track in college (i just graduated last weekend). I so I run 3k-10k distances. My best 5k is a 15:11. I tend to be really good at hills on the bike. I think it is a combination of how light I am (138 in-season @ 5'10") and the fact that running 80-90mpw builds up some strong (skinny) legs. haha

400 = 400 meters.
They the difference is only about 10 feet.
All the old school dirt tracks are mostly in the yard-system. The new rubber tracks are all standard 400 meters.
