1986 Panasonic DX4000
Just picked up a 1986 Panasonic DX 4000. Mint condition. 1 owner Garage kept. Brake hoods like new. heck even the freewheel is completely clean a free of any corrosion. Sugino GLP special cranks. Suntour Sprint derailleurs . I paid 350. How did I do?? I am new here so cant posts pics but will as soon as I get to 10 posts.

Sounds like a nice bike. For whatever it's worth I bought a 87 Dx 5000 last year for $50 and I might have over paid. Terrible condition. I stripped her to bear frame and replaced parts as necessary. I am about $ 250 into her now. Sweet bike but I still have a crappy paint job.

Thanks for the response. I am loving it. The bike rides like a dream. Eats up the road and looks like a million bucks. Whites tires are my next move to finish out the color scheme.

No, the dx5000 had 600. this one has sugino glp special cranks and suntour sprint derailleurs. still nice. the sprint was meant to be a direct competitor with 600.

I feel like all this white calls for a white seat, current seat now looks out of place. 
Although I admit a seat which matched the hoods could also pop nicely. Good luck keeping those tires and tape white!

thanks for the comment. Im looking at seats now. i found a selle italia vintage 1980 turbo saddle in brown which would match the hoods..
