Beautiful non-drive side view. The fenders are hammered? More pictures would be appreciated.

Are the Vittoria Paris-Roubaix 30mm Tires, tubulars? I don't believe my '71 P13 could handle them, especially with fenders.

I enjoyed reading your love letter to this type of bicycle, many of us here believe they're great bikes.

I also agree that there's an established name for these, generally. Sport(s) tourers.

Which is exactly what they were called BITD (and have been ever since).

Besides, when I think of GT bikes, I think of.... uhhhh.... GT bikes.

Yes, we need a new buzzphrase for a nebulously-defined category of bike (which, if it does exist, already has a name), so we can market more overpriced components for it and jack the prices on the bikes themselves. Why not? It worked with "gravel bikes" (whatever those are).

(Edit: Oops, did I hit "Post"?)

I'm very disappointed. Now I'm going have to wait at least 3 months before starting a "Sports Tourer with cantilever brakes" thread....

When B&B first came out, my nephew, about 12 at the time, had hair JUST like Butthead's. He's in his 40s now, and still does.

I’ll post my new to me Mercian. It has cantilevers but is definitely on the sporty side.

I picked up a Bridgestone RB-T recently, but figured I'd get it back on the road before starting a taxonomic fire storm......

Bike forums would fall apart if people had to actually ride their bikes before starting a flame war over their gear. Just sayin.
