My question is this: If it's a private road, why would the police patrol it? If I roll a stop sign on a private road how can the police have authority to enforce it? Why are they even there?

I also question why we can have a PUBLIC post office in a area that is reachable only by private roads.

Was only a matter of time...

Hello, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The Diablo Community Service District (DCSD) is meeting this Tuesday (1/8/19) at 7:30pm (Diablo Country Club) to discuss the possible closure of the "Path/Hole In the Wall/California State Parks Easement"(photo below). The path is the safest way to access South Gate Road and Mount Diablo State Park!

We encourage everyone to attend and/or send a letter to the DCSD Board President Ray Brant, rbrant@diablocsd.org and Christie Crowl, General (Legal) Counsel, ccrowl@jarvisfay.com(This is a Public Meeting and you will have 3 minutes to speak)

Please take the time to share your thoughts concerning how dangerous Diablo Road is for cyclists and how essential it is to keep the "Path/Hole in the Wall/California State Parks Easement" open for everyone; hikers, dog walkers, cyclists and joggers.

Please share this email (photo) with ALL your friends!
Thanks,

Alan

I'm not going, but someone has to explain to me how this can be closed off, if in fact this cut through is on a land owner's private property. As far as I know, this cut through is on a person's property, who has no issue with cyclists using it. How a community service district can force it to be closed is beyond me...

According to the FB posts from Mt. Diablo Cyclists, they Community Board has until "late Feb" to decide. Apparently there was a lot of turnout to the previous meeting to speak in favor of the path, but the group hell bent on closing it is pretty powerful, so not sure if it will make a difference. As long as they don't start putting walls up (America 2019), I'll continue to use the safest route to that side of the mountain.
