Flyte SRS-3s on ebay even cheaper! (99.99)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Welcome to the Club . A fixed gear, that sounds like a great idea. Now I know what to do with mine after I get my QS2-s or Custom Serotta.

Fixer is a temp idea, I mean I could build it up...I just dont know, I have a main bike right now, which isnt neccesarily a better frame but its more for me.

Gosh, first I order a new headlamp and a new bike!

Add me to the buyer list. We're going to need a separate Flyte SR3 owner forum; maybe we all do a group ride. I think I'll top it off with an Easton EC90 SL fork then transfer my 8-speed D-A groupo and Ksyrium Elites to it.

If you go to the page on the SRS3 at the flye website,
https://www.flyte1.com/soar/janette/store/SRS3.asp#

Look under Geometry. There is a little chart there. These are not hte lightest frames around, but certainly are not boat anchors either.

I went ahead and got the fork which upon receipt I found to be well made, it weighed exactly 350 grams and fits the bike perfectly.
Doh... must resist urge...

I guess I'd probably strip my Scattante down and sell that frame/fork/headset off, but do I want another alu bike? I'm sure it would ride better than the Scat, but... I dunno, I was kinda wanting to replace that bike with a steel bike.

By the time I make up my mind, they'll prolly be gone anyway.

The box mine were received in was the same box all the other Reynolds forks come in, I had all documentation. How could Probikekit offer Campagnolo parts so cheaply a few weeks ago? This guy could have bought direct from Reynolds. THis could be a previous years model, which will significantly decrease it's value.

All valid point, and could well be the case; like I said, I wasn't making a claim that these weren't proper forks. My point is/was when something is that spectacular, to just ask some questions first. If you want to check with Reynolds, here's contact information:

Once everyone has their buld's complete, we need to do a "Show your Flyte STS-3's" thread to see how everyone put theirs together.

Your SRS-3 looks like it's paint is more blue(brighter) than mine.

Digital camera's usually aren't totally true to color, and when you combine that with the fact that computer monitors are always at least a little off, unless you have one calibrated for color accuracy, it easy to see why my bike viewed on your monitor is something other than the frame sitting in front of you. That being said, I agree that the blue is a little brighter in the pictures than looking at the bike in person.

We should probably wait until most of those who have bought frames have built their bikes so that it makes an impact out of the gate, then the others could post their work as completed thereby enlarging the thread and keeping it fresh.

So everyone who has finished their build count off!

I'll start. "One"

I think the blue tires and black rims bring out the color more. I'm going to put my blue Vredestein's on mine.

So, for those who want to go all the way with the blue theme, how about the chainrings? They're available here. https://www.poshbikes.com/make.php?22

Oh man, that's pretty OCP. I dunno if I'd want to spend 150 bucks on colored chainrings though.

What crankset is on your bike? I can't tell. Black and blue has always been my favorite color scheme, especially since my Raiders have been stinking up stadiums nation-wide for years now. I've got black rings on my FSA Gossamer so that will do nicely. I just need some deep black rims to set off the Vredesteins. Too bad you can't get Zipp w/o graphicss.

I looked at the eBay listings and the seller does offer a 43mm which is what Flyte specifies, and they are integrated headset type forks, so in that respect it should be fine. My question is how can this guy sell Reynolds forks so cheaply, and where did he get them. There was a lot of Ritchey WCS forks on ebay a while ago that turned out to be counterfeits. Not saying these are too, but I would ask a couple of questions before bidding.
thanks for the info. i didn't know if 4.3 was some other way of saying 43mm or not. yeah, i'm kinda skeptical about this fork. should i just sned him a message asking where he got it?
