Excuses!!!

But that get me thinking. Right now, I'm sitting in my neurosurgeon's office waiting for the doc. If he were to say that he could give me a shot that would let me go home and ride, would I? It's going to be 105 degrees with high humidity and a couple of brush fires in the area, so breathing would be tough. Would I ride? I honestly don't remember the date of my last ride, but it's been months and months. Probably approaching a year now. Would I ride? Yah, in a heartbeat!!!!

8 for 8? Dang! That's, let's see........100, 200, 300, 4, 5.....(takes off shoe)......ah crap, I lost count, but that's a lot of miles!!!!

Did I mention that bike is Hawt!!???

Missed our annual ride and Five Guys this year, J. Very sad. They never called for help and if they had, I personally wouldn't have been able to help. I may have come down for moral support if you guys, though. PhotoJoanne and I were going to camp in that campground we pass then open it up for a casual hang out for any and all afterward. Woulda been fun! Oh well. Maybe next year!

I stayed along the beach most the way but still live 45min inland.

It wasn't terrible heat along the water but crosswind/headwind took it's beating on me. I kept it at endurance pace and never got into higher speeds or higher Heart rates.
I drank 10 bottles, 6 was water, 4 gatoraids, 2 large cokes, 1 hot vanilla latte, 1 iced coffee slushy thing. Was still kinda dehydrated when I got home, and starving for solid food. I turned around at Pico Ave and 101, there is a nice coffee shop there.

We are having a high of 79 degrees in Omaha today, it should be 77 by the time I get off work. It's going to be a glorious day to ride.

48 degrees here this morning when I woke up ... and I like to ride in the mornings. Going to have to get another set of tights, because one isn't going to cut it.

No ride today though ... daughter's first day of school and then the wife and I went for breakfast.

On the road this morning about 4:45am. Got in about 35 miles, came home and ate a bowl of cereal, got the kids up and out to school, then foolishly got back on the bike for another 30 miles or so. Cooler today than the rest of this week, only 97º by 10am. And just like I did on Wednesday, started to run out of water, wisely determined I wasn't going to make it, and there's another $3 water from the 7-11. Ended up at 67.6 miles w/ 3,323ft, and went through SIX bottles (5 water, 1 Gatorade.) Already downed another 32oz or so since getting home.

Not fatigued, but SO tired. I guess the fasted 35 miles on 4.5 hours of sleep was equally as poorly thought out as the subsequent 32 miles entirely above 90º. Being on the road in the I.E. past 10am in this weather is simply not sustainable. The last 6 miles or so, I was taking in more than one ounce of water per minute.

Pretty much how I felt yesterday. Once I got behind the H20 diet I was screwed!!! tall cold coke and couple gatoraids was a bandaid til I got home. My body didn't want to eat on the bike, it was difficult to finish half a bar at a time.

My club wants to do the inland route as planned. I may opt out and stay more towards the water.

Kudos for going out twice today!!

105 here. Take that yourself, you got the Roman numeral wrong! Last month was XXVIII, so this month should be XXIX, right? After 28 comes 29, you rolled us back to 24, that would be April. Sheesh!

It's actually Microsofts fault. Last round of updates broke the macros in my main proposal spreadsheet. What should have taken me 30 minutes took over four hours. And that was just to do a workaround, not fix it. VBA is beyond my limited programming capabilities and the author of the thing is retired.

I just did 19 miles and 1,000 feet today, home before 0900, the AC had already kicked on when I got back.

I got slammed into the ocean floor by a wave while body surfing a couple weeks ago. Hit in the forehead and upper left arm. The head recovered faster, about a week with two black eyes and a big abrasion. The arm and shoulder are still bothering me. Went to the doc, nothing broke, but I've been laying off on the weekday riding to give it a rest. Fortunes doesn't bother me too much while riding.

been in the high 90s here with very low humidity (think blast furnace) with no shade....got a few miles in last weekend.

I did put a 10mm shorter stem on the bike and went from 110mm to 100mm on the Deda Trantacinque stem. I love the fat bars (35mm tops down to the hoods with normal 31.5mm drops) as my gorilla hands fit nicely on them; oh and they cut some weight from the bike.... <sings "I'm a weight weenie">

I wish we still had 90º weather here... This morning in the low 50s and do not have cool weather riding gear ready... 3pm finally about to head out it just broke 70º... I much rather ride in the morning.

Yeah really wanted leg warmers and long sleeves this morning pulled out long sleeve but couldnt find leg warmers so waited until this evening...

What do do after a quick 12 mile hit on the bike... Well enjoy a nice local IPA of course!!!

Bonus points for having a two wheeled vehicle on the can... And the 8% Alc of course.

I hope I'm able to join in on a social "ride". I'm working at riding as much as I can between now and surgery. Obviously weather this past week has put a kink in my ride to work plans. I have shower / bathroom travel kit at work and I'm going to take my camp fast dry towel and use shower at work this week.

I was intending to ride a century yesterday.......one I do often (Riverside to Oceanside) but with temps reaching 104 it was decided to cut the century short and make San Clemente the destination. Miserable day to ride in SoCal.
@PhotoJoe, no beer or pizza........salad only (and I was at a brewery that has great beer and pizza) The goal is 180!
