Need help finding year and make of my vintage Motoconfort racer
Vintage Motoconfort racer. I'm trying to find the model and history of a Motoconfort recer that I have inherited from a friend. It's hard to find year and model for the bike. It has stronglight 100lx cranks and shimano 600 br-6207 brakes and leavers. It has a Motoconfort badge on the front. It has been painted over and can't find the serial number of the bike. If someone could help me with figuring out if it's worth pulling apart completely and reconditioning it that would be great. Il put some pictures up to show what I have to help out

Sounds interesting, but BF only allows posting of pictures after 10 posts, and restricts new members to 5 posts per day. I suggest posting a series of descriptive posts, or possibly a post with a link to pictures.

Start looking for date codes on the hubs, pedals, derailleurs and crank arms. Two digit dates will put you in the ballpark.

I cant help with year or model but here is Pierce1987's album.
The head badge strongly resembles that of a 73 Motobecane.

Motoconfort vs Motobecane
Motoconfort was a parallel Motobecane brand sold mostly in Europe and the UK. While it was a "bâtard enfant" (bastard step child) marque with little of the marketing support that Motobecane provided, the bikes were all the same quality.
For example this is a 1974-75 Motoconfort Super Champion model which was the equivalent to Motobecane Grand Jubile except for long point Prugnat lugs vs. Nervex lugs plus paint and decals.
The components pictured are not original to the frame... Frankenbike.
If you could post some additional photos, it would held. Here's a guide to area that help us ID a bike:

Serial number? Overall pic? The Shimano New 600EX pedals and brakeset are from January and July 1984, which would suggest a 1985 model bicycle but they are not necessarily OEM and the presence of the Campagnolo centre bolt supports this. It's hard to tell if it's a drop bolt but I can't imagine the substitution for any other reason. A drop bolt would suggests the caliper reach was insufficient. The Stronglight 100LX crankset is more likely to be original and it did debut in the mid-1980s. Still, the serial number and frame features may indicate otherwise. My initial impression, based on the head badge style, is that the frame is from the early 1970s and that the bicycle has been entirely rebuilt.

The backside of crank arms may have the two digits, yes the last two digits of the year. My ‘79/80 Motobecane Super Mirage had this as well as seeing the codes of Lyotard pedals. Get your reading glasses on if you have them, the codes are small. Yet, it’s all a mystery we love to dive into. If it has added components then that muddies things up a bit.

This company certainly seems to have a mismatch of bikes produced. I have recently become the owner of a Motobecane Super Champion. It is in hulk green with all original parts. I believe it was mainly sold in Europe as i have read a lot of people saying they doubt it even existed!
